In it, a member of the Floyd family can be heard asking Biden how he is feeling following the announcement that Chauvin had been convicted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeeling better now. Nothing is going to make it all better, but at least now there is some justice,\u201d Biden responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re so relieved,\u201d Biden told the family, speaking for himself and Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Both Biden and Harris weighed in on the trial while the jury was deliberating, despite Judge Peter Cahill\u2019s admonition to public figures that they should refrain from comment, even though the jury was sequestered while they weighed Chauvin\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that\u2019s disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function,\u201d Cahill said, after striking down the defense\u2019s motion for a mistrial on the grounds that legislators, including Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), had unfairly influenced the jury with public commentary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful and in a manner that is consistent with their oath to the Constitution to respect a coequal branch of government. Their failure to do so, I think, is abhorrent,\u201d Cahill said, suggesting that Waters\u2019 comments could provide the defense an avenue for a later appeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can only imagine the pressure and anxiety they are feeling, and so I waited until the jury is sequestered and I called,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-joe-biden-on-chauvin-trial-im-praying-for-the-right-verdict-evidence-is-overwhelming\">Biden said Tuesday, referring to a call<\/a> he had with the Floyd family following closing arguments in Chauvin\u2019s case. \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to say anything about it. It was a private conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re a good family and they are calling for peace and tranquility no matter what that verdict is. I\u2019m praying the verdict is the right verdict, which is, I think it\u2019s overwhelming, in my view. I wouldn\u2019t say that unless the jury is sequestered,\u201d Biden added.<\/p>\n<p>Although Biden said he meant the conversation to remain private, Floyd\u2019s family revealed that they had spoken to the president on the Today show on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was just calling,\u201d Philonise Floyd, George Floyd\u2019s brother, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/president-joe-biden-calls-george-floyds-family-as-jury-deliberates-says-he-hopes-everything-will-come-out-ok\">told the NBC program<\/a>. \u201cHe knows how it is to lose a family member, and he knows the process of what we\u2019re going through. So he was just letting us know that he was praying for us, hoping that everything will come out to be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kamala Harris joined a number of commentators Tuesday suggesting that a guilty verdict in Chauvin\u2019s trial was the beginning, not the end, of the racial justice movement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s say there is a guilty verdict on the highest charge, it will not take away the pain of the Floyd family,\u201d Harris told CNN. \u201cIt will not take away the pain of the communities, all communities, regardless of their color or geographic location, that felt sadness and anger in what they witnessed in that video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
