Jurors deliberated until 8 p.m. local time (9 p.m. ET) before adjourning for the evening without reaching a verdict,\u201d added CBS News, indicating what many already know \u2014 the outcome of the trial is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/4-crucial-details-in-the-derek-chauvin-trial-that-the-media-are-ignoring\"><span>far from a foregone conclusion<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, numerous Democrat figures have rushed to dismiss the clear potential for reasonable doubt, and have proclaimed Derek Chauvin\u2019s unquestionable guilt. Some have even dismissed the need for a trial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here\u2019s how they reacted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Maxine Waters<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Speaking in Minneapolis, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/if-maxine-waters-was-a-republican-she-would-have-been-impeached-decades-ago\"><span>declared<\/span><\/a><span> that Chauvin was guilty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe\u2019re looking for a guilty verdict. We\u2019re looking for a guilty verdict. And we\u2019re looking to see if all of this [inaudible] that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd,\u201d she told a reporter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Later, Waters <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-maxine-waters-on-if-derek-chauvin-is-acquitted-get-more-confrontational-on-the-street\"><span>stated<\/span><\/a><span> that Chauvin is \u201cguilty for murder,\u201d saying that \u201cas far as I\u2019m concerned it\u2019s first degree murder.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In Minnesota, murder in the first degree would be an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/609.185\"><span>intentional and premeditated homicide<\/span><\/a><span>, meaning that Waters believes that Derek Chauvin planned to murder George Floyd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jacob Frey<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Democratic Minneapolis Mayor also dismissed the need for due process, saying on Monday that \u201cregardless of the decision made by the jury, there is one true reality, which is that George Floyd was killed at the hands of police.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.1666666666667\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says &#8220;regardless of the decision made by the jury, there is one true reality, which is that George Floyd was killed at the hands of police.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PFfby2aT1a\">pic.twitter.com\/PFfby2aT1a<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alpha News (@AlphaNewsMN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlphaNewsMN\/status\/1384273354580848653?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Joe Biden<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Speaking with reporters, President Joe Biden said he was \u201cpraying the verdict is the right verdict,\u201d adding that, \u201cI think it\u2019s overwhelming in my view.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBut it is unusual for a president to weigh in on such a case, and specifically its merits, before a verdict,\u201d noted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/549217-biden-praying-for-chauvin-conviction-evidence-overwhelming\"><span>The Hill<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"13.064516129032\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;They\u2019re a good family, and they\u2019re calling for peace and tranquility, no matter what that verdict is,&#8221; President Biden says. &#8220;I\u2019m praying that the verdict is the right verdict, which I think, it\u2019s overwhelming in my view.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/00IRJ6tZn8\">pic.twitter.com\/00IRJ6tZn8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaitlancollins\/status\/1384540720833380355?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Nancy Pelosi<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>On Monday, Pelosi\u2019s comments were reasonably measured compared to her fellow Democrats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cToday is a solemn day as the closing arguments are presented in the George Floyd murder trial. I commend the Floyd family for their dignified calls for justice, which were heard around the world,\u201d Pelosi said in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/549021-pelosi-prays-for-truth-to-prevail-in-chauvin-trial\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cAs outraged as we are by his death, let us be prayerful that the truth will prevail and will honor George Floyd\u2019s memory.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, soon after Floyd\u2019s death, Pelosi declared that Floyd was murdered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe saw it on TV \u2014 [Floyd] being murdered on TV,\u201d said Pelosi. \u201cLet\u2019s take our lead from them in terms of how these things are sequenced,\u201d Pelosi said. \u201cBut we did see a murder on TV.
