We are sorry you found this offensive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lovato then doubled down against this family-owned business to her millions of followers:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><i>I was thinking, maybe it would help if you made it more clear that the sugar free options and vegan options are for that. Labeling the snacks for celiac or diabetes or vegans. When it\u2019s not super clear, the messaging gets confusing and being in L.A. it\u2019s really hard to distinguish diet culture vs health needs.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>I think clearer messaging would be more beneficial for everyone.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>You aren\u2019t wrong for catering to many different needs but it\u2019s about not excluding one demographic to cater to others.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After significant backlash, Lovato apologized on Tuesday for sending the wrong message while simultaneously offering to help with The Bigg Chill\u2019s branding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI left that yogurt store and didn\u2019t get the yogurt that I wanted and then I had a hard time for the rest of the weekend \u2026 I\u2019m human, and I talk about my struggles. And I\u2019m passionate so I\u2019m sorry that I got the messaging wrong. I\u2019m sorry that I may have disappointed some people but I\u2019m not coming after a small business as someone with a lot of followers. That\u2019s not what I\u2019m doing here,\u201d Lovato said in an Instagram video, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/pop-culture\/celebrity\/demi-lovato-apologizes-after-slamming-frozen-yoghurt-shop-s-dietary-n1264621\">reported<\/a> by NBC.<\/p>\n<p>Lovato said she felt the message got \u201cmisconstrued\u201d and offered to help The Bigg Chill put out the correct message while complaining about the pains of being a celebrity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will do whatever I can to work with this froyo shop \u2014 if they want to \u2014 to help align the messaging, so where I feel safe going in there, and I can eat the froyo that I went in there for,\u201d Lovato said. \u00a0\u201cMy intentions were not to come in and bully a small business. I walked in, and was so triggered, that I left without froyo, and it made me really sad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a celebrity is exhausting sometimes,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tv\/CN3HpwDDUuI\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"13\" readability=\"-9.169014084507\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lovato also characterized herself as an activist that was fighting for people \u201cstruggling\u201d with eating disorders.
