Maxine Waters (CA) for allegedly inciting violence with remarks that she made over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis weekend in Minnesota, Maxine Waters broke the law by violating curfew and then incited violence. Increased unrest has already led to violence against law enforcement and her comments intentionally poured fuel on the fire,\u201d McCarthy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/04\/19\/exclusive-kevin-mccarthy-moves-formally-censure-maxine-waters-having-broke-law-incited-violence\/\">said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019ve heard this type of violent rhetoric from Waters before, and the United States Congress must clearly and without reservation reprimand this behavior before more people get hurt. But Speaker Pelosi is ignoring Waters\u2019 behavior. That\u2019s why I am introducing a resolution to censure Rep. Waters for these dangerous comments, and I hope that all my colleagues \u2013 both Republican and Democrat \u2013 will stand up for peace on America\u2019s streets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to House Democrat Caucus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dems.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/DEM_CAUCUS_RULES_117TH_April_2021.pdf\">rules<\/a>, if Waters is censured then she would be stripped of her position as chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Rule 25 states:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><em>A Chair of a standing, select, special, or joint committee of the Congress, or subcommittee thereof, who is censured by a vote of the House when the Democratic Party is the majority party in the House of Representatives, or who is convicted of a felony for which a sentence of two or more years of imprisonment may be imposed, shall cease to exercise the powers of the Chair and shall not serve as Chair of any committee or subcommittee for the remainder of that Congress.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Waters\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-maxine-waters-on-if-derek-chauvin-is-acquitted-get-more-confrontational-on-the-street\">said<\/a> at a protest in Minnesota over the weekend that \u201cprotesters\u201d were \u201clooking for a guilty verdict\u201d and if they don\u2019t get what they want then \u201cwe cannot go away.\u201d When asked what \u201cprotesters\u201d should do if they do not get the verdict that they want, Waters responded that activists have \u201cgot to stay on the street,\u201d \u201cget more active,\u201d and \u201cget more confrontational.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This is a breaking news story, refresh the page for updates.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
