And global problems require global solutions,\u201d the climate change activist said during an online conversation with World Health Organization Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>She hit back at higher-income nations, like the United States, for moving to vaccinate young and healthy people before shipping vaccines to lower-income countries that are struggling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is completely unethical that high-income countries are now vaccinating young and healthy people if that happens at the expense of people in risk groups and on the front lines in low and middle-income countries. And this is a moral test,\u201d Thunberg explained. \u201cWe talked today about showing solidarity and yet vaccine nationalism is what\u2019s running the vaccine distribution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thunberg said how the vaccine rollout is taking place has to do with individuals\u2019 \u201cmindsets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat these crises come down to is that we only think for ourselves. We don\u2019t think about others,\u201d she said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/goatsandsoda\/2021\/04\/19\/988857599\/eco-activist-greta-thunberg-has-a-new-issue-the-moral-threat-of-vaccine-inequali\">NPR<\/a>. \u201cThey come down to the way we treat others, the way we treat other human beings, the way we treat other animals and nature itself. You are eligible,\u201d the president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2021\/04\/19\/press-briefing-by-white-house-covid-19-response-team-and-public-health-officials-30\/\">said<\/a> during a press conference on Monday. \u201cThen, reach out to your family, friends, and neighbors to make sure they can make an appointment too.\u00a0 And see what help you can offer them to help those who might need extra assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Up until now, vaccine distribution was broken up for health care workers, other frontline workers, and those ages 65 and up.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/covid-19-vaccine-eligibility-expanded-all-adults-biden-directive\">Centers for Disease Control<\/a> (CDC), 129 million \u2013 or 50.4% \u2013 of Americans have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.
