Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said the Democrat Party radicalized itself during President Trump\u2019s first term.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz spoke on the Senate floor Thursday in protest of the left violating Judiciary Committee rules in order to approve Vanita Gupta, Joe Biden\u2019s pick for associate attorney general. He said Senate Democrats and Joe Biden are caving to the progressive wing by consistently supporting far-left candidates for top leadership positions in the administration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">For years, Joe Biden\u2019s nominee for Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta demonstrated a persistent hostility to religious liberty when she defended Obama\u2019s persecution of the Little Sisters of the Poor.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, today\u2019s Democrat Party has abandoned religious liberty. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ITlV3npSIF\">pic.twitter.com\/ITlV3npSIF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenTedCruz\/status\/1382809860430049284?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 15, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe Democratic Party has changed. I understand that his existence and every word he uttered enraged Democrats,\u201d Cruz stated. \u201cBut they\u2019ve emerged from four years in the Trump administration more radical than any majority party in this body ever has been.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Texas senator specifically raised concern over Gupta\u2019s view on religious liberty.
