And when I cut my hair, I felt so liberated because I wasn\u2019t subscribing to an ideal or a belief placed upon me to be something that I\u2019m not,\u201d she said, as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/style\/demi-lovato-tells-drew-barrymore-about-her-haircut-t214957\">Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class>Lovato also reflected upon her experience of being raised as a child star and how she related to her parents.<\/p>\n<p class>\u201cMy parents, they did the best that they could. There\u2019s no manual on how to raise a child star, and when the child star retorts back after the parent says, \u2018You\u2019re grounded for sneaking out at three in the morning, whatever.\u2019 I retorted with: \u2018Well, I pay the bills. What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do to keep me grounded?\u2019 It was challenging,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Lovato got her start at age 8 on&nbsp;\u201cBarney and Friends,\u201d which eventually led her to think she could live like an adult at a young age.<\/p>\n<p class>\u201cThe adults leave work and they go and have a drink; the kids, what do we (do)? So it was this weird thing to think about, especially then when you become a teenager in Hollywood and your adult peers are going to a bar after work or whatever and you\u2019re 17 thinking, \u2018Well, what do I get to do to play?&#8217;\u201d she said. \u201cI had this mentality of \u2018if you\u2019re gonna work me like an adult, I get to party like one,\u2019 but the reality was adults weren\u2019t partying like I was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In late March, Lovato took her cues from the the Miley Cyrus brand of pop-cultural identity and came out as pansexual, saying she was attracted to \u201canything, really.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off,\u201d Lovato told Joe Rogan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou mean sexually fluid?\u201d Rogan asked. \u201cYou like girls? You like boys?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, anything, really,\u201d Lovato replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do they call that?
