Oath Keepers are a loosely connected confederation of militia groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOath Keepers member Jon Schaffer has pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including for breaching the Capitol while wearing a tactical vest and armed with bear spray, with the intent to interfere with Congress\u2019 certification of the Electoral College results,\u201d Acting Deputy Attorney General John P. Carlin said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Schaffer pleaded guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, according to the DOJ. When the rally ended, Schaffer and others marched to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/31\/capitol-police-donald-trump-capitol-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Capitol<\/a>. Schaffer then admitted to having positioned himself in front of a crowd that broken open a set of doors being guarded by Capitol Police officers wearing riot gear, according to the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>Once inside the Capitol, Schaffer and others \u201cadvanced toward five or six backpedaling USCP officers while members of the mob swelled inside of the Capitol and overwhelmed the officers,\u201d according to the DOJ. Schaffer and others were sprayed with a \u201cchemical irritant\u201d and exited the building.<\/p>\n<p>Schaffer was arrested on Jan. 17 in the Southern District of Indiana, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-dc\/defendants\/schaffer-jon-ryan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DOJ<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/13\/pelosi-fought-capitol-rioters-street-fighter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018I\u2019m A Street Fighter\u2019: Pelosi Says She Would Have Fought Capitol Rioters)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schaffer is the frontman of \u201cIced Earth,\u201d a heavy metal band, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/page\/file\/1356006\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Statement of Facts<\/a> from the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Schaffer said in a 2017 interview that he was an \u201c\u2018anarchist\u2019 and referred to the federal government as a \u2018criminal enterprise,&#8217;\u201d according to the Statement of Facts.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview at the November \u201cMillion MAGA March,\u201d Schaffer told a member of the press that it will come down to \u201cbloodshed\u201d if the U.S. moves to become a communist nation, according to the Statement of Facts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not going to merge into some globalist, communist system, it will not happen,\u201d Schaffer said, according to the Statement of Facts. \u201cThere will be a lot of bloodshed if it comes down to that, trust me. The American people will not go for that bullshit once they understand what\u2019s actually happening. So that\u2019s where we\u2019re at.
