Yet, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-9474915\/Less-0-01-Americans-fully-vaccinated-against-COVID-19-gone-contract-disease.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> pointed out, the percentage of those who have been vaccinated and gone on to contract the virus is a fraction of a percent:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p><em>With more than 76.6 million Americans \u2014 23.1 percent of the population \u2014 fully immunized against coronavirus, this means that just&nbsp;0.007 percent later fell ill \u2014 far less than one percent. Additionally, more than 123.9 million Americans \u2013 or 37.3 percent \u2014 have received at least one dose with an average of 3.3 million shots in arms per day.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The CDC states of \u201cvaccine breakthrough infections\u201d: \u201cVaccine breakthrough infections make up a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated. CDC recommends that all eligible people get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as one is available to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CDC also insists that being fully vaccinated should not preclude people from wearing masks, stating, \u201cCDC also continues to recommend people who have been fully vaccinated should keep taking precautions in public places, like wearing a mask, staying at least six feet apart from others, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, and washing their hands often.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVaccine breakthrough infections were reported among all people of all ages eligible for vaccination. However, a little over 40% of the infections were in people 60 or more years of age,\u201d the CDC notes.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kawsar Talaat, an infectious disease physician at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told CNN, \u201cThat\u2019s the whole point of getting to herd immunity. Because once we get to a point where enough people in the community are vaccinated, then if somebody develops Covid in that community, the people around them are protected and it\u2019s much harder for that person to spread the virus to somebody else, and therefore the transmission stops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-biden-admins-decision-to-pause-jj-vaccine-causes-confidence-in-vaccine-to-plummet\/\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported, the Biden administration\u2019s decision to call for a pause to the Johnson &amp; Johnson\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine appears to have significantly undermined confidence in the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFieldwork for the latest Economist\/YouGov poll on vaccine safety perceptions was in the midst of being conducted when the Centers for Disease Control made the decision to suspend the use of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine,\u201d a poll press release&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/today.yougov.com\/topics\/politics\/articles-reports\/2021\/04\/15\/johnson-johnson-vaccine-confidence\">said<\/a>. \u201cComparing the results from those who took the survey before the announcement with those who took the survey afterward shows the huge impact the CDC\u2019s decision has had on the perceived safety of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong those who started the survey before the announcement about the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine pause, about half (52%) considered the shot \u2018very safe\u2019 or \u2018somewhat safe\u2019 \u2014 twice the number who believed it \u2018very unsafe\u2019 or \u2018somewhat unsafe\u2019,\u201d the poll said. \u201cAfter the announcement was made, these figures had converged \u2014 just 37% called the vaccine safe, and 39% feeling it unsafe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
