According to reports, CNN\u2019s ratings are \u201cdown more than 50 percent in multiple categories\u201d since January 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe liberal network spent years attacking former President Donald Trump and the network thrived during his final days in office amid a brief post-election spike. CNN averaged 2.2 million viewers during the first three weeks of 2021, but it has averaged just one million viewers since Biden took office, a staggering decline of 54 percent,\u201d reported <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cnn-viewers-biden-took-office-staggering-60-percent-in-key-demo\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This drop in on-screen fortunes began when Donald Trump left office. In March, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnns-ratings-have-crashed-since-trump-left-office-we-shouldnt-be-surprised\"><span>The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a><span> reported that \u201cCNN has lost about a million viewers on average,\u201d since Biden entered office, with CNN \u201cdrawing nearly 50% fewer viewers in the key 24-54 age group.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Some conservatives were initially worried in early January when, after dominating cable news ratings for two decades, Fox News <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/capitol-siege-cnn-msnbc-higher-ratings-fox-1st-time-2000-2021-1\"><span>received<\/span><\/a><span> \u201clower TV ratings than both CNN and MSNBC at the same time for the first time since 2000\u201d in the week of the US Capitol riots.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFrom <\/span><span>Election Day<\/span><span> through <\/span><span>Inauguration Day<\/span><span>, when Democrat Joe Biden was sworn in to succeed Trump as president, CNN was the most-watched cable news network in both total viewers (1.8 million),\u201d reported <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/tv\/2021\/01\/22\/cnn-replaced-fox-top-rated-cable-news-network-post-election\/6666017002\/\"><span>USA Today<\/span><\/a><span>. Mediaite <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/premium\/msnbc-first-in-all-of-cable-ratings-friday-cnn-drops-to-third-overall-in-prime-time-but-still-tops-most-key-demo-metrics\/\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201cMSNBC was the most-watched network in all of cable\u201d on Friday January 22, with CNN dropping to third overall in prime time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, it seems that the sudden ascendency of CNN appears to be short-lived. Not only has their overall viewership declined by 54 percent, the plummeting numbers are even worse among key demographics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cCNN\u2019s struggles are even more prominent among the key advertising demographic of adults age 25-54, with a drop of 60 percent. It averaged 617,000 demo viewers from Dec. 28 through Inauguration Day but only 244,000 since Biden entered the White House,\u201d added Fox News.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On the New York Times podcast, \u201cSway,\u201d host Kara Swisher asked Don Lemon \u2014 one CNN anchor impacted by the dwindling viewership \u2014 whether he was concerned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNo. I\u2019m not worried about it \u2026 Trump was a horrible person. And he was terrible for the country. And it is better for all \u2014 for the world that he is no longer the President of the United States,\u201d Lemon responded. \u201cSo if that means that cable news ratings go down? Aww. So I\u2019m not really that concerned about it. I would prefer that my ratings go down and Trump not be in office than my ratings be sky-high and him be there. That\u2019s the honest truth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Brian Stelter, host of CNN\u2019s \u201cReliable Sources\u201d has also been struggling to retain his audience. In late March, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnns-brian-stelter-plunges-again-in-ratings-after-host-obsesses-over-fox-news-and-tucker-carlson\"><span>The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a><span> reported that \u201cAccording to Nielson Media Research, the most recent episode of CNN\u2019s Reliable Sources \u2014 hosted by Brian Stelter \u2014 saw its lowest rating of the year for the second weekend in a row,\u201d adding Townhall.com\u2019s report that Stelter\u2019s show \u201cfailed to reach over a million viewers for the second time in as many weeks, while also boasting its second-lowest viewership of the year for its key demographic of 25 to 54 year-olds.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
