Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield\u2019s claim that \u201cwhite supremacy\u201d is \u201cweaved\u201d into the U.S. founding documents.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki seemingly defended Thomas-Greenfield\u2019s remarks during the daily White House press briefing when Newsmax reporter Emerald Robinson asked if she would be removed from her position as U.N. Ambassador for what she claimed was \u201cparroting Chinese Communist Party talking points.\u201d <strong><a class=\"text-black\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/mara-gay-joe-scarborough-black-death\/\">(RELATED: The New York Times\u2019 Mara Gay: US Seems To Be \u2018Invested In The Spectacle Of Black Death\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Robinson began by asking Psaki about Thomas-Greenfield\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/14\/un-ambassador-white-supremacy-founding-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">comments<\/a>, which the U.N. Ambassador made Wednesday while speaking to Al Sharpton\u2019s activist group National Action Network (NAN). \u201cI have seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles,\u201d Greenfield said to the group.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson said she believed the statement was being \u201cwidely criticized\u201d for \u201cessentially parroting Chinese Communist Party talking points.\u201d She then asked if President Joe Biden intended to remove her from her position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs the president going to remove an African American woman with decades of experience in foreign service, who\u2019s widely respected around the world, from her position as Ambassador to the U.N.? He is not,\u201d Psaki responded. \u201cHe is proud to have her in that position. She is not only qualified, he believes she is exactly the right person in that role at this moment in time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to say that she hadn\u2019t seen Thomas-Greenfield\u2019s comments to NAN, but that \u201cthere\u2019s no question there has been a history of institutional racism in this country, and that doesn\u2019t require the U.N. ambassador to confirm that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Robinson then stated that Thomas-Greenfield\u2019s comments were \u201cessentially the same lecture\u201d that the Chinese delegation gave Secretary of State Antony Blinken during their <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/19\/alaska-china-xi-jingping-biden-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March meeting<\/a> in Alaska. It isn\u2019t clear which comments Robinson was referring to. However, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2021\/mar\/19\/us-china-talks-alaska-biden-blinken-sullivan-wang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a>, the Chinese delegation did urge the U.S. to address racial issues, in what some saw as a way to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/19\/china-uyghur-genocide-antony-blinken-jake-sullivan-alaska\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deflect<\/a> from China\u2019s treatment of its Uyghur population.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson then asked if Biden thought the country\u2019s founding documents were \u201cracist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say that I will leave my comments to speak for themselves and certainly I think most people recognize the history of systemic racism in our country and she was speaking to that,\u201d Psaki answered.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki was pressed Friday on U.N.
