Jonathan Mattingly, was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/officer-shot-leg-breonna-taylors-boyfriend-writing-book-fight-for-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a> by Post Hill Press, a Simon &amp; Schuster subsidiary. But Simon &amp; Schuster said Thursday it would not distribute the book and that it had learned of Post Hill Press\u2019 book deal with Mattingly when the public had.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike much of the American public, earlier today Simon &amp; Schuster learned of plans by distribution client Post Hill Press to publish a book by Jonathan Mattingly. Taylor\u2019s boyfriend <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/09\/firearms-experts-report-louisville-police-friendly-fire-breonna-taylor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fired the first shots<\/a> during the raid and hit Mattingly.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor was hit with six bullets fired by the officers, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/changing-america\/respect\/equality\/548614-giant-publisher-refuses-to-distribute-new-book-by-officer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hill<\/a>. Mattingly fired one of the shots that hit Taylor, but the FBI determined that another officer fired the fatal shot.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville police officer Brett Hankinson was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment for firing bullets into a nearby apartment during the gunfight, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/23\/grand-jury-indictments-officer-breonna-taylor-shooting-louisville-police-kentucky-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> in September.
