The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/12\/study-lancet-covid-19-uk-variant-illness-death\/\">B117 variant that originated in the United Kingdom<\/a> became the most common strain in the country in early April, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/13\/biden-administration-use-johnson-johnson-vaccine-pause-six-blood-clots\/\">(RELATED: Biden Admin Puts Use Of Johnson &amp; Johnson Vaccine On Pause As Six Of 7 Million Develop Blood Clots)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7172171\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"37\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7172171\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">WASHINGTON, DC \u2013 APRIL 15: U.S. President Joe Biden announces new economic sanctions against the Russia government from the East Room of the White House on April 15, 2021 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2021\/04\/12\/press-briefing-by-white-house-covid-19-response-team-and-public-health-officials-27\/\">Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/a> said during the White House\u2019s coronavirus press briefing April 12 that vaccinating Americans with two doses of either the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines would stop the spread of the new variant as effectively as the wild-type, but that additional spikes across the country could lead to further mutations. The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/13\/biden-administration-use-johnson-johnson-vaccine-pause-six-blood-clots\/\">Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine<\/a> still requires more testing before its efficacy against the new variants can be determined, Fauci added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe variant, the B117 \u2013 I call it that rather than the UK variant \u2013 has become quite dominant in the US.
