Liz Cheney of Wyoming and John Katko of New York paid $50,400 and $19,874 in private security, according to Punchbowl. Ohio Republican Rep. Anthony Gonzalez paid $1,540, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>All three <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/13\/10-republicans-voted-impeach-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">voted<\/a> to impeach Trump after the riot, and have all drawn GOP primary challengers as a result. Trump has vowed to campaign against Cheney ahead of 2022, and said Wednesday that he would <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/14\/trump-murkowski-cheney-wyoming-republican\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">endorse a challenger<\/a> \u201csoon.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/06\/liz-cheney-says-trump-created-incited-mob\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Cheney Says Trump Created And Incited The Jan. 6 Mob)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7113935\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7113935\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rep. Mitt Romney of Utah and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania paid $43,633 and nearly $70,000, according to Punchbowl. Both <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/13\/republicans-voted-convict-trump-senate-impeachment-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">voted<\/a> to convict Trump during his Senate trial.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez paid $44,400 and over $45,000, according to Punchbowl. Swalwell has come under increased criticism for his unknowing <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/25\/eric-swalwell-christine-fang-chinese-spy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">connection<\/a> to an undercover Chinese spy, while Ocasio-Cortez is one of the most high-profile Democrats in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>While lawmakers have always spent money for private security, Punchbowl noted that security expenditures spiked during Trump\u2019s term.<\/p>\n<p>The Capitol complex has been mostly fenced off since the Jan. 6 riot, and some of what was taken down was restored following an <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/02\/report-multiple-capitol-police-officers-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">attack that killed one Capitol Police officer<\/a> on April 2.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in February announced additional security for lawmakers while traveling, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaceTheNation\/status\/1381259538612039680?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1381259538612039680%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fpolitics%2Fpelosi-democrats-capitol-police-funding-2-billion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> CBS News\u2019 \u201cFace The Nation\u201d that she is finalizing a $2 billion spending bill that would provide further security and grow the ranks of the Capitol Police.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
