On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-biden-admins-decision-to-pause-jj-vaccine-causes-confidence-in-vaccine-to-plummet\"><span class=\"s1\">The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a> reported that the \u201cBiden administration\u2019s decision to call for a pause to the Johnson &amp; Johnson\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine has caused confidence in the vaccine to plummet, according to a new poll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Daily Wire reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"6.7649253731343\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)&nbsp;<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/13\/us\/politics\/johnson-johnson-vaccine-blood-clots-fda-cdc.html\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>announced<\/i><\/span><\/a><i>&nbsp;the pause recommendation earlier this week after six women in the U.S. developed a rare blood-clotting disorder. More than 7 million people in the U.S. have so far received the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a segment of his show that was published as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/tucker-carlson-covid-vaccine-johnson-and-johnson-pause\">opinion<\/a> piece on Wednesday, Carlson questioned why the federal government decided to pause the distribution of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine in the midst of a massive government effort to get many Americans vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson generally defended vaccines, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/tucker-carlson-covid-vaccine-johnson-and-johnson-pause\">saying,<\/a> \u201cWe\u2019re not against it on principle. Like most Americans, we\u2019re grateful for vaccines. But before we take this one, a few questions about this specific one. There are two things we\u2019d like to know, and neither one has anything to do with how many professional athletes or Netflix stars have been vaccinated so far. We don\u2019t care. It\u2019s irrelevant. Here\u2019s what is relevant. The first question: Is the vaccine safe? The second question: Is it effective? Safe and effective. That\u2019s all that matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/technology\/548374-chelsea-clinton-calls-on-facebook-to-ban-tucker-carlson?rl=1\">The Hill<\/a> reported, \u201cAccording to data from the social media tool CrowdTangle, Carlson\u2019s segment had become the most popular post on Facebook by Wednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In his show, Carlson questioned whether or not the data being released to the public was factual and asked why government authorities have pushed for more lockdowns in the midst of the vaccine rollout.&nbsp;Carlson said, \u201cThey do tell us we have to shut things down, just like we did last year before we had a vaccine. But now we have a vaccine, so why are we shutting them down again? What\u2019s going on here? We\u2019re not sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The television show host wondered why Americans are not able to return to their normal lives once they have been vaccinated, voicing concerns that have led to many people not wanting to get vaccinated. He said, \u201cAt some point&nbsp;\u2013 no one\u2019s asking this, but everyone should be \u2013 what is this about? If the vaccines work, why are vaccinated people still banned from living normal lives?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Chelsea Clinton seemed to address Carlson\u2019s main comments about \u201ca legitimate mystery\u201d surrounding the vaccine rollout. In his show, however, Carlson questioned why reporters are not doing a better job of understanding more about the vaccination efforts and asking questions about the concerns that many Americans have.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Carlson said, \u201cThe vaccine can\u2019t simultaneously be highly effective&nbsp;and&nbsp;not restore people\u2019s lives to normal. They don\u2019t tell you to avoid water fountains after you get the polio vaccine. They don\u2019t need to tell you that because the polio vaccine works. So there\u2019s a legitimate mystery here, at the heart of the most aggressive vaccination campaign [in] American history. You\u2019d think journalists might sort this out for the rest of us. That\u2019s their job. It\u2019s a major important story.&nbsp;What\u2019s the answer?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Chelsea Clinton responded to a tweet that contained a screenshot of a Facebook post of Carlson discussing the vaccine. The Facebook post had received over 590,000 total views at the time. The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JesseLehrich\/status\/1382358005849673731\"><span class=\"s1\">tweet<\/span><\/a> from Jesse Lehrich, former foreign policy spokesman for Hillary Clinton, said \u201cthe #1 post on @Facebook about vaccines today is Tucker Carlson suggesting they don\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Clinton <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChelseaClinton\/status\/1382364546589986817\"><span class=\"s1\">responded<\/span><\/a> to the tweet, saying, \u201cIn December, <span class=\"s1\">@facebook<\/span> banned claims about <span class=\"s2\">#covid19<\/span> vaccines \u2018that have been debunked by public health experts.\u2019 And yet [arrow pointing down]. One person <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mac_n_cheezcake\/status\/1382713285204537348\"><span class=\"s1\">wrote<\/span><\/a>, \u201cI don\u2019t remember you calling out Kamala and Joe last year for saying they wouldn\u2019t trust the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The FDA granted emergency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-issues-emergency-use-authorization-third-covid-19-vaccine\"><span class=\"s3\">authorization<\/span><\/a> for the Johnson &amp; Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in February for use in individuals 18 or older. An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/media\/146217\/download\"><span class=\"s3\">FDA analysis<\/span><\/a> of trial data found that no one who received the vaccine was hospitalized for COVID-19 or died from COVID-19 beginning 28 days after the vaccine was administered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The FDA and CDC have called for the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine\u2019s administration to be paused as officials examine a potential link to a type of rare blood clot. Six cases of the blood clot have been reported in the U.S., and more than 6.8 million people have received the one-shot vaccine across the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/safety\/safety-of-vaccines.html?s_cid=10487:covid%20vaccine%20safety:sem.ga:p:RG:GM:gen:PTN:FY21\">official website<\/a>: \u201cOver 189 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through April 12, 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><em>COVID-19 vaccines are <strong>safe and effective<\/strong>. [<\/em><em>\u2026]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Serious side effects that would cause a long-term health problem are extremely unlikely following COVID-19 vaccination. Long-term side effects following any vaccination are extremely rare.
