In one particular verse, he rails against the anti-vaxxers as flat-earthers.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"8\">\n<p>Shooting the vaccine, Bill Gates is in my bloodstream<br \/>It\u2019s mind control<br \/>The Earth is flat and cold. It\u2019s never warming up<br \/>The Artic\u2019s turned to slush<br \/>The second coming\u2019s late<br \/>There\u2019s aliens in the deep state<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In another lyric, Jagger sings: \u201cThat\u2019s a pretty mask \/ but never take a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/mick-jagger-new-song-dave-grohl-vaccines-1154825\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a>, Jagger said he wrote the song lyrics in reference to his \u201cirrational\u201d friends that are anti-vaxxers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just seems to be that even people you know that are relatively sensible about a lot of things have one thing that they just don\u2019t kind of get,\u201d he said. \u201cI have several friends and relations and they go off on these things that just doesn\u2019t\u2026 They\u2019re just irrational. Of course, there\u2019s no point in speaking to people about it. They don\u2019t get it. They got what they believe in and they believe in <em>that<\/em>. And it doesn\u2019t matter what you say, they\u2019re gonna believe in it. And rational thought doesn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven a country like France that prided themselves in the 18th Century on rationality is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/blogs-trending-56526265\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">most anti-vaccine country in Western democracy<\/a>. It\u2019s not as if [vaccines] are a new thing,\u201d he continued. \u201cWhen I was a child, which was a really long time ago, people would die from polio. They would just not be there the next day. And that\u2019s been eradicated through vaccines. These poor children were either dead or crippled, and I had lots of friends like that. Would you rather have a vaccine if you had a child or would you rather their legs not work? You can\u2019t argue with these people. So that\u2019s how I got to the conspiracy theories; through the anti-vaxxers. Even I didn\u2019t mention it in that verse; I probably should\u2019ve though [since] I just went off on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, actor Morgan Freeman said in a public service announcement for Creative Coalition, &nbsp;a nonprofit arts advocacy group, that people should get the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not a doctor, but I trust science,\u201d Freeman said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m told that, for some reason, people trust me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo here I am to say, I trust science and I got the vaccine,\u201d he continued. \u201cIf you trust me, you\u2019ll get the vaccine. In math, it\u2019s called the distributive property. In people, it\u2019s called taking care of one another. Get the vaccine. Help make our world a safe place for us to enjoy ourselves again.
