This past February, while speaking with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/tv\/2021\/02\/15\/dwayne-johnson-young-rock-shows-family-version-andre-giant-moment\/6735837002\/\">USA Today<\/a>&nbsp;about his new sitcom \u201cYoung Rock,\u201d which chronicles his childhood, Johnson echoed his 2017 comments to Ellen DeGeneres that he may run for president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would consider a presidential run in the future if that\u2019s what the people wanted,\u201d he said. \u201cTruly I mean that, and I\u2019m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people\u2026So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, shortly after former President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration, Johnson said he was \u201cseriously considering\u201d a run for president<\/p>\n<p>Last September,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-backs-biden-in-first-ever-endorsement-calls-kamala-harris-certified-badass\">Johnson labeled himself<\/a>&nbsp;a \u201ccentrist\u201d as he endorsed Joe Biden, clarifying that he has voted for both parties while hailing Kamala Harris as a \u201ccertified badass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a political independent &amp; centrist, I\u2019ve voted for both parties in the past,\u201d Johnson tweeted. \u201cIn this critical presidential election, I\u2019m endorsing [Joe Biden] &amp; [Kamala Harris]. Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS &amp; RESPECT. We must ALL VOTE[.]\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got friends in all parties, but the one thing we can always agree on is the conversation and the dialogue, and where that conversation lands is always the most critical part,\u201d he said in a video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought it was a great and extremely productive conversation that we had, and as a registered independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become president and vice president of our United States,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Upon Biden\u2019s election, Johnson admitted to crying \u201cmanly tears\u201d over the prospect of Harris being vice president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to shoot this yesterday, when the news broke, but I got a little emotional, admittedly so, I got a little emotional yesterday, manly tears of course, I may have cried a tear or two, or ten, but they were all very manly. All my tears are manly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson went on to say that he got emotional because of what he felt his vote \u201crepresented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy vote represented humanity. My vote represented decency,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt represented the values and the principles of which we teach our little girls.
