They agreed with the measures \u2013 until they learned they were from the new Georgia voting law.<\/p>\n<p>Campus Reform <a href=\"https:\/\/campusreform.org\/article?id=17203\">traveled<\/a> to the university with a camera to read students the component of Georgia\u2019s new law, finding that \u201cMost students were widely supportive of the bill, applauding its voter expansion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One student, who is white, early in the video said she was from Georgia and that there was \u201ca lot of voter suppression\u201d in Georgia, adding that she believed there needed to be a lot more \u201cfreedom and accessibility\u201d for voters, such as \u201cextending hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campus Reform\u2019s video reporter Addison Smith then explained to the students some measures of \u201cnew legislation going around,\u201d which would require weekend early voting for two Saturdays instead of just one, giving counties the option to expand early voting for two Sundays,&nbsp; clarify voting hours, ban electioneering within 150 feet of a polling location, require identification to ensure people can\u2019t cast multiple ballots.<\/p>\n<p>The students agreed with those measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaking sure people aren\u2019t casting more than one vote sounds kinda commonsense to me,\u201d said one student.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that allowing voters more time to vote is never a bad thing,\u201d said another, who also appeared to be in favor of voter identification to prevent illegal voting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ability to vote on the weekend, specifically, makes a lot of sense,\u201d said yet another student.<\/p>\n<p>The student who claimed there was \u201ca lot of voter suppression\u201d in Georgia also agreed on the measures relating to early voting and electioneering, but fell back on the left-wing talking point that \u201cnot everyone has access to an ID or the ability to get one,\u201d adding that \u201cnot everyone has a static location where they live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith then asked the students if the bill he described would be a good substitute for the Georgia law. The student from Georgia said \u201cyeah, anything\u2019s better than that.\u201d When informed that he actually described the Georgia bill, the student barely reacted, claiming the bill also included \u201cless locations\u201d to vote. She then claimed it was \u201cclassist\u201d to require an ID to vote and that three years wasn\u2019t enough time for people to get an ID. When Smith told her that more than 70% of black voters support showing an ID at the polls, she said \u201cOkay, I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other students were surprised to learn what was actually in the Georgia bill, admitting they hadn\u2019t actually read it. One student tried to claim people weren\u2019t deliberately misrepresenting the bill, but when asked if the measures Smith described amounted to \u201cJim Crow on steroids,\u201d she changed her tune.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire\u2019s Ian Haworth previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/georgias-election-integrity-act-everything-you-need-to-know\">reported<\/a>, there is a disconnect between what Democrats and their media supporters have said about the bill and what it actually does. The Georgia law expands early voting and requires voter IDs.
