It\u2019s not a government tracking microchip, but rather a tissue-like gel engineered to continuously test your blood. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1UDs9dBNcE\">https:\/\/t.co\/1UDs9dBNcE<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Zfph8xQUKC\">pic.twitter.com\/Zfph8xQUKC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 60 Minutes (@60Minutes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/60Minutes\/status\/1381394043121381379?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 11, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The segment noted that the agency was created more than six decades ago to respond to the Russians having more sophisticated aerospace technology than the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The agency has pushed the boundaries of science in other arenas, including <a href=\"https:\/\/qz.com\/814849\/darpa-and-qualcomm-brain-implants-for-6g-and-neural-engineering\/\">neuro-engineering<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/checkpoint\/wp\/2014\/08\/27\/new-obama-plan-calls-for-implanted-computer-chips-to-help-u-s-troops-heal\/\">developing<\/a> \u201ccomputer chips designed to modulate the nervous system to help with everything from arthritis to post-traumatic stress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just this week, the agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/04\/12\/darpa-nuclear-spacecraft-lockheed-bezos-blue-origin-general-atomics.html\">awarded<\/a> contracts to several companies to develop nuclear-powered spacecraft.<\/p>\n<p>TRANSCRIPT:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"36\">\n<p><em>NARRATION: Dr. Hepburn showed us a few current projects, some sound like they\u2019re from an episode of \u201cStar Trek.\u201d Consider a ship like the USS Theodore Roosevelt \u2014 hobbled last year when 1,271 crew members tested positive for the coronavirus.
