Brian Kemp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a piece titled, \u201cHow the corporate backlash to Georgia\u2019s new voting law is shaping other fights around the country over access to the polls,\u201d the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/georgia-voting-law-backlash\/2021\/04\/11\/3074ef34-9893-11eb-a6d0-13d207aadb78_story.html\"><span>Washington Post<\/span><\/a><span> reported that Warnock \u201c<\/span><span>signed an email sent out by the advocacy group 3.14 Action after the law passed, which claimed it ended no-excuse mail voting and restricted early voting on the weekends,\u201d which were \u201cearly proposals that did not become law.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c<\/span><span>A Warnock campaign spokesman said the senator signed off on his statement days before the law passed, when those provisions were still under consideration,\u201d the Washington Post added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Both provisions \u2014 the end of no-excuse mail voting and the restriction of early voting on weekends \u2014 were considered but did not make it into the final bill. No-excuse absentee voting is still permitted, with a shorter window of 67 days to apply, while early voting has actually been expanded to 17 days, including two Saturdays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>No-excuse absentee voting allows voters to request mail-in ballots for any reason, while some states require voters to provide an acceptable excuse.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c<\/span><span>The statement went out on March 30, five days after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, signed the final bill into law,\u201d according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/warnock-admits-email-false-information-georgia-voting\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>President Joe Biden has also been criticized for spreading misinformation regarding Georgia\u2019s contentious election integrity law. The Washington Post fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2019\/01\/07\/about-fact-checker\/\"><span>highlighted<\/span><\/a><span> two false statements from the President:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhat I\u2019m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It\u2019s sick. It\u2019s sick \u2026 deciding that you\u2019re going to end voting at five o\u2019clock when working people are just getting off work,\u201d Biden said during a news conference on March 25, and \u201cAmong the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can\u2019t cast their vote after their shift is over,\u201d he added in a statement on March 26.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>These statements were given a rating of \u201cFour Pinocchios\u201d by the Washington Post, which the Post simply defines as \u201cwhoppers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWith Senate Bill 202, Georgia will take another step toward ensuring our elections are secure, accessible and fair,\u201d Gov. Kemp <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpb.org\/news\/2021\/03\/25\/kemp-signs-96-page-omnibus-elections-bill\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> in March when he signed the bill into law. \u201cEnsuring the integrity of the ballot box isn\u2019t partisan, it\u2019s about protecting the very foundation of who we are as Georgians and Americans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The key components of Georgia\u2019s election integrity law aim to improve ballot security and standardize the variations which occurred across the state during the November elections, with \u201cbroad discretion allowed to local officials.\u201d In addition, instead of signature verification, Georgians who wish to cast their absentee-by-mail ballots will now be required to prove their identity in the form of a driver\u2019s license, state ID number, or other form of identification.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
