During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcci.com\/article\/iowa-governor-kim-reynolds-says-she-declined-request-to-house-migrant-children-in-iowa\/36063989#\">interview<\/a> on Thursday, Kim Reynolds said she declined a request by the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department to House around 300 undocumented immigrant children.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds said she needs to protect the health and safety of her own residents while noting Iowa doesn\u2019t have the proper facilities to house the unaccompanied minors. While criticizing the White House for lack of response to southern border, the governor said the migrant crisis is \u201cthe president\u2019s problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s (Joe Biden) the one who opened the borders, he needs to be responsible for this and he needs to stop it,\u201dshe stated. \u201cWe have kids\u2026we are having trouble placing children right now who are Iowa children that need those foster homes.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m calling on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SpeakerPelosi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SpeakerPelosi<\/a> to come see the crisis I\u2019m seeing at the southern border today and talk to our law enforcement officers on the ground.
