But should corporations take a stand when it comes to social and political issues?<\/p>\n<p>Political commentators <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AishaMoodMills?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AishaMoodMills<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ericbolling?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ericbolling<\/a> debate \u2b07\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Newsnight?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Newsnight<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LoH3MNdPnh\">pic.twitter.com\/LoH3MNdPnh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BBC Newsnight (@BBCNewsnight) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BBCNewsnight\/status\/1379925775982460930?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>\u201cHere\u2019s what they did to the African American community and minority businesses in Atlanta, in Cobb County,\u201d Bolling said, speaking of the actions of the political Left and numerous corporations. \u201cThey took $100 million of revenue. They took 8,000 booked hotel rooms, and they moved them out of the state and put them in a state and a city with far less diversity than [Atlanta].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd, by the way,\u201d Bolling continued, referencing a moment prior when Mills attempted to interrupt him. \u201cIf Aisha wants to complain about this, take it up with Stacey Abrams who\u2019s the voting advocate in Georgia who said it was a mistake. Take it up with both Senators, who are both Democrats, one of them African American who said it was a mistake.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI think it\u2019s really rich for any Republican, especially a white man, to run around and claim that they care about the economic condition of black communities and black businesses when that\u2019s all a lie,\u201d Mills responded. \u201cOK? There\u2019s nothing in their polices\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bolling immediately rejected this apparent accusation of racism. \u201cThat\u2019s not fair,\u201d he interjected. \u201cThat\u2019s insulting and not fair. You don\u2019t know me, you don\u2019t know who I am.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI don\u2019t work for the Biden administration,\u201d Mills responded. \u201cNever have, but what I am is a black person in America, and everything that these voting laws stand for and what they look like are reminiscent [of] the Jim Crow policies that my families lived under. Every single thing about it. This is all about racial discrimination.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd how dare you,\u201d Mills continued, \u201c<\/span><span>try to act like you are somehow a proponent of black people and businesses just to make a point and try to create a wedge? It\u2019s ignorant and it\u2019s just disrespectful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou know what? That\u2019s disgusting,\u201d Bolling replied in response to Mills\u2019 continued apparent accusations of racism. \u201cI\u2019m done. Put me off. That\u2019s disgusting. I am nowhere near anything you are painting me to be, and the problem with American politics is exactly that. Because I\u2019m white, you think I\u2019m racist? That\u2019s BS. I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After Maitlis asked Bolling to remain for one question, he responded \u201cI don\u2019t know why I\u2019m staying here.
