Jody Stiger, a paid witness of the state in Chauvin\u2019s trial over Floyd\u2019s death, if Floyd complained to arresting officers the he \u201cate too many drugs.\u201d Nelson played a clip of Floyd\u2019s arrest from an officer\u2019s body camera showing Floyd laying on the ground and speaking to officers. Floyd appears to say, \u201cI ate too many \u2026,\u201d then crosstalk drowns out Floyd\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson questioned Stiger about the clip, and Stiger said he could not make out Floyd\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"14\">\n<p>Nelson: \u201cDid you hear what he said?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stiger: \u201cNo, I couldn\u2019t make it out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nelson: \u201cDoes it sound like he says, \u2018I ate too many drugs?\u2019 Listen again.<\/p>\n[Floyd clip plays]\n<p>Stiger: \u201cI can\u2019t make that out, no.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.19305019305\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Nelson just played a portion of the body camera video and asked &#8220;does it sound like he said &#8216;I ate too many drugs?'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stiger said he couldn&#8217;t make it out.  Here I clipped that part of the video. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/luMybVw50l\">pic.twitter.com\/luMybVw50l<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lou Raguse (@LouRaguse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LouRaguse\/status\/1379820827357642752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The police <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LouRaguse\/status\/1379835285014519814\">transcript<\/a> corresponding to the video does not include Floyd\u2019s comments featured in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>Chauvin\u2019s defense team is arguing that drugs and an existing heart problem played crucial roles in Floyd\u2019s death. The defense is attempting to establish that Chauvin\u2019s actions, restraining Floyd with a knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes, would not have resulted in Floyd\u2019s death without complications from those existing drug and heart problems.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors on the case have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2021\/apr\/01\/george-floyd-girlfriend-courteney-ross-derek-chauvin-murder-trial\">admitted<\/a> that Floyd had a history of substance abuse, and are arguing that Floyd\u2019s past use of drugs built up his immunity to them enough where the amount he ingested before his arrest would not have significantly affected him.<\/p>\n<p>Floyd had a history of drug abuse and addiction and was traveling with a man he had previously purchased drugs from at the time of his arrest, according to earlier testimony, under oath, from Floyd\u2019s girlfriend. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/george-floyds-girlfriend-floyd-hospitalized-for-overdose-months-earlier-drug-dealer-with-him-during-arrest\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18.674285714286\">\n<p><em>Later in the trial, Ross&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Breaking911\/status\/1377714691917631489\">confirmed<\/a>&nbsp;that Floyd was with Morries Hall, who had sold both her and Floyd drugs, at the time of Floyd\u2019s arrest in May. She said that the pills she and Floyd got in May reminded her of some she took in March that kept her up all night and left her feeling jittery, and that she believed they came from Hall, but was she was not sure, according to the Star-Tribune.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Earlier, while talking to the FBI, Ross had said that those pills she and Floyd got had left her feeling like she was going to die.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Floyd\u2019s alleged drug dealer, Morries Hall, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/floyds-alleged-drug-dealer-refuses-to-testify-to-avoid-self-incrimination-at-chauvin-trial\">declined<\/a> to testify as part of Chauvin\u2019s trial, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.<\/p>\n<p>The Hennepin County medical examiner reported after performing Floyd\u2019s autopsy that he had ingested potentially lethal amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamines before his death. The medical examiner concluded, however, that Floyd\u2019s death was a homicide and the result of asphyxiation from Chauvin\u2019s restraint. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/medical-examiner-concluded-george-floyd-likely-died-of-fentanyl-overdose-court-docs-reveal\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18\">\n<p><em>New court documents have uncovered two memorandums, dated May 26 and June 1, that suggest Chief Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker concluded George Floyd likely died from a fentanyl overdose and found \u201cno physical evidence suggesting\u201d that he died of asphyxiation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAB (Andrew Baker) said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death,\u201d says a memo dated June 1, outlining a May 31 virtual with Dr. Baker.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The memos seemingly run contrary to the&nbsp;Armed Forces medical examiner and Hennepin County medical examiner\u2019s final conclusion that Floyd\u2019s death was a homicide.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
