Biden had encouraged the decision days before it was made over election reforms Georgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s up to the Masters,\u201d Biden said when asked if the professional golf tournament should boycott Georgia like the MLB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is reassuring to see that for-profit operations and businesses are speaking up about how these new Jim Crow laws are just antithetical to who we are,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to note that businesses and events leaving Georgia carries an economic cost. When businesses leave Georgia, \u201cthe people who need the help the most, the people who are making hourly wages sometimes get hurt the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a very tough decision for a corporation to make, or group to make, but I respect them when I make that judgement and I support whatever judgement they make,\u201d Biden said. \u201cThe best way to deal with this is for Georgia and other states to smarten up. On Friday, two days after Biden\u2019s public endorsement of the Georgia boycott, MLB commissioner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-mlb-moving-all-star-game-out-of-georgia-after-pressure-from-white-house\">Rob Manfred<\/a> announced the league\u2019s decision to follow through on the president\u2019s wishes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views,\u201d Manfred said. \u201cI have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year\u2019s All-Star Game and MLB Draft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the move was announced, backlash built in Georgia and nationally against the MLB and Democrats who pushed the move while spreading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/wapo-fact-checker-biden-misled-about-georgia-election-law-it-expands-voting-opportunities-for-most-georgians\">misinformation<\/a> about Georgia\u2019s election reforms. Democratic activist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ilhan-omar-blasts-stacey-abrams-for-opposing-georgia-boycotts-demands-support-for-civil-rights-movement\">Stacey Abrams<\/a>, who lost the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial race, discouraged other companies from following the MLB\u2019s lead, saying that boycotts are not \u201cnecessary \u2014 yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Holly Quinlan, president and CEO of Cobb Travel and Tourism, said Georgia\u2019s tourism industry will take at least a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/georgia-county-that-voted-for-biden-to-lose-100-million-over-mlb-relocating-game-after-biden-remarks-report\">$100 million hit<\/a> in lost business due to the MLB moving its events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event would have directly impacted our county and the state, as visitors spend their dollars on local accommodations, transportation, entertainment and recreation, food and retail throughout the county,\u201d Cobb County Travel and Tourism said. \u201cThis would have been a big boost to Cobb businesses and help with recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
