Kevin Brady (R-Texas) argued that over time, smart infrastructure investments could help the economy grow. However, Brady said Biden\u2019s plan to raise corporate taxes to pay for it could negate that economic growth.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The &#8220;infrastructure plan&#8221; is just a Trojan horse to raise taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are going to take more of Americans&#8217; money to pay for their liberal wish-list. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8l7DibpBW9\">https:\/\/t.co\/8l7DibpBW9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. Kevin Brady (@RepKevinBrady) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepKevinBrady\/status\/1379146140919169025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRight now, having the president propose a $2 trillion tax increase as we\u2019re working our way out of the pandemic, no president has ever raised business taxes to rebuild an economy,\u201d Brady explained. \u201cThen to drive our rates worse than China\u2019s and on par with Syria\u2019s.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The American Jobs Plan is a once-in-a-generation investment in America unlike anything we have seen or done since we built the Interstate Highway System and won the Space Race decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s big. It\u2019s bold. And we can get it done.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1377362312865017856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 31, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the day, we\u2019re going to see slower hiring, we\u2019re going to see less investment in the U.S., and I would predict we will see a second wave of U.S. companies inverting or moving their headquarters overseas in the long run,\u201d Brady stated. \u201cThat\u2019s why I think this is such a major mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The congressman said Republicans and Democrats do agree on rebuilding roads, bridges and creating more access to broadband.
