I read.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kyrsten Sinema (@kyrstensinema) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kyrstensinema\/status\/1379097097274679296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Most recently, Sinema <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/video-of-how-kyrsten-sinema-voted-against-15-minimum-wage-goes-viral-leftists-erupt-in-anger\">sparked outrage<\/a> from fellow Democrats and left-wing activists for&nbsp;voting against a $15 minimum wage, and did so by giving a memorable thumbs-down.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Beast was particularly upset, <a href=\"https:\/\/money.yahoo.com\/wtf-wrong-kyrsten-sinema-090307168.html\">publishing<\/a> a post with the headline, \u201cWTF (what the f***) Is Wrong With Kyrsten Sinema?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s bad enough Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the Arizona Democrat, turned down the minimum wage hike&nbsp;with that oh-so-cute thumbs-down,\u201d the piece complained. \u201cNow she\u2019s threatening to derail the whole Democratic agenda, insisting on archaic Senate rules that give Mitch McConnell and the Republicans outsized power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sinema argued in a statement at the time of the vote that \u201cthe Senate should hold an open debate and amendment process on raising the minimum wage, separate from the COVID-focused reconciliation bill.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/video-of-how-kyrsten-sinema-voted-against-15-minimum-wage-goes-viral-leftists-erupt-in-anger\">statement<\/a> reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p><em>I understand what it is like to face tough choices while working to meet your family\u2019s most basic needs. I also know the difference better wages can make, which is why I helped lead Arizona\u2019s effort to pass an indexed minimum wage in 2006, and strongly supported the voter-approved state minimum wage increase in 2016. No person who works full time should live in poverty. Senators in both parties have shown support for raising the federal minimum wage and the Senate should hold an open debate and amendment process on raising the minimum wage, separate from the COVID-focused reconciliation bill. I will keep working with colleagues in both parties to ensure Americans can access good-paying jobs, quality education, and skills training to build more economically secure lives for themselves and their families.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sinema also \u201cmelted\u201d some Democrats when she stood up and applauded portions of the-President Donald Trump\u2019s 2020 State of the Union address, even as she was surrounded by disapproving colleagues.&nbsp;AZ Central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/story\/opinion\/op-ed\/laurieroberts\/2020\/02\/05\/arizona-sen-kyrsten-sinema-donald-trump-state-of-the-union\/4665386002\/\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;at the time:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><em>Sinema stood and applauded during President Donald Trump\u2019s State of the Union Address on Tuesday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><em>As Trump commended Sen.
