The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/covid-eviction-declaration.html\">CDC extended that moratorium<\/a> through June 30 last week, in turn, putting more pressure on private property owners.<\/p>\n<p>One Houston-area landlord, who\u2019s a partial owner of five apartment complexes and manages 11 other properties, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/small-time-landlords-struggle-to-keep-the-lights-on-as-devastating-eviction-moratorium-continues\/\">spoke to the National Review<\/a> about the hard decisions she\u2019s had to make during this time. Most recently, she said she had to choose between reopening the pool for tenants or paying the electric bill.<\/p>\n<p>A class-action lawsuit was filed in March by the New Civil Liberties Alliance, which claims it\u2019s unconstitutional for the CDC to impose such an order.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC claims the moratorium is in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but landlords still face the struggle of paying for things like utilities, insurance, payroll for employees and even their mortgage regardless if tenants are paying their rent or not.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/n-y-dems-to-give-2-1b-in-tax-dollars-to-illegals-and-ex-felons\/\"> N.Y.
