Just sayin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The social media influencer, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackenterprise.com\/a-viral-tiktok-video-explains-the-painful-history-attributed-to-the-stereotype-of-black-people-not-swimming\/\">signed<\/a> IMG Worldwide model, has nearly half a million followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, riots erupted in numerous cities over alleged racism by police officers against black people. Businesses were destroyed and more than a dozen people were killed during the chaos.<\/p>\n<p>While some protesters have condemned the violence, some prominent Black Lives Matter activists have publicly excused and seemingly supported the destruction of cities.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley Gantt, a prominent&nbsp;Black Lives Matter leader in Rochester, New York, for example, made waves last summer when she said she did not \u201ccare if the whole city burned down.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/public-schools-near-rochester-mandate-anti-racist-curriculum-overseen-by-blm-leader-who-said-i-dont-care-if-the-whole-city-burned-down\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"26.871121718377\">\n<p><em>\u201cIf there was looting, if there was things on fire, that is not what is important. What is important is why these things happen,\u201d Gantt <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bZ3u_C-SiYI&amp;ab_channel=WXXINews\">said<\/a>, telling the media they have a job \u201cto make sure that\u2019s the story that\u2019s heard.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>She referenced the riots that swept metropolitan areas across the country the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. died, noting that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed just months later.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am just tired of you guys not putting the correct narrative out there,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t care if the whole city burned down. We need justice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Gantt later attempted to soften her remarks, saying that \u201cof course\u201d she does not want people to set the city on fire, but she does want people to understand that when it comes to&nbsp;\u201csustainable change,&nbsp;sometimes we have to do whatever it takes to get it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In another recent TikTok video from Echols, the model boasts of her \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d face mask that she likes to wear at her grocery store in a \u201cpredominantly white\u201d neighborhood. Echols claims \u201cconservatives\u201d give her dirty looks for the mask, and bragged that she stares them down and looks \u201cdown on them\u201d since she\u2019s usually taller and \u201cthey\u2019re not gonna say anything to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy new favorite guilty pleasure is going to the grocery store with this mask on,\u201d she starts the video, taking off her \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d mask. \u201cI live in a predominately white area \u2026. and the looks I get from these conservatives are crazy, like y\u2019all would be shocked. Like, the death stares I get.&nbsp;It\u2019s so funny to me, though.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike, I get so much pleasure out of seeing somebody upset because I\u2019m saying my life matters,\u201d Echols continues. \u201cLike, it makes me laugh. The former officer&nbsp;can be found guilty of all, some, or none of the charges since they are all separate.<\/p>\n<p>Since he has no criminal history, Chauvin is likely looking at \u201cserving about 12 1\/2 years whether he is convicted of second or third-degree murder,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/derek-chauvin-trial-murder-charge-explained-5e7c935f560219caee61fcc0bef0a23d\">according<\/a> to The Associated Press. The manslaughter charge, which has the lowest burden of proof, would bring a maximum of 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>After officers were notified that Floyd allegedly gave counterfeit money at a convenience store back in May, Chauvin and three other officers arrested and detained Floyd. Viral video shows that&nbsp;Chauvin kneeled on Floyd\u2019s neck for nearly nine minutes while detaining Floyd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChauvin\u2019s attorneys argue that Floyd\u2019s drug use was a crucial factor in his death.
