The laptop also allegedly contained images of Biden using illicit drugs and engaging in sexual acts with an unidentified woman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor real, I don\u2019t know. I really don\u2019t know what the answer is. That\u2019s the truthful answer,\u201d Biden told Smith in a clip of the interview released Friday by CBS News. \u201cOf course, certainly [it could have been my laptop]. There could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be I was hacked. Pundits, journalists, and experts dismissed the Biden laptop stories as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2020\/10\/19\/hunter-biden-story-russian-disinfo-430276\">Russian disinformation<\/a>. Facebook limited the stories\u2019 reach in order to fact check the claims. Twitter claimed that the stories violated the platform\u2019s rules against hacked materials, which CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-ceo-admits-his-company-was-wrong-to-censor-hunter-biden-story\">Jack Dorsey<\/a> later said was \u201cwrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the CBS interview, Daily Wire cofounder and editor emeritus Ben Shapiro pointed out the absurdity of snuffing the story when Hunter Biden, the central figure in the stories, never denied the authenticity of his alleged laptop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemember, the laptop was Russian disinformation and thus the story had to be downplayed on Facebook and removed from Twitter entirely,\u201d Shapiro said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.2\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Remember, the laptop was Russian disinformation and thus the story had to be downplayed on Facebook and removed from Twitter entirely <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PZtbwSz3YW\">https:\/\/t.co\/PZtbwSz3YW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/benshapiro\/status\/1377970576254513152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 2, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden allegedly left three laptops at a computer repair store in Delaware in April 2019. The store\u2019s owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, believed that Biden was the one to drop the laptops off, and Biden\u2019s signature appeared on documents outlining the work order and totaling the cost at $85. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/alleged-hunter-biden-signature-found-on-documents-for-work-on-three-macbook-pro-laptops-at-repair-shop\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"20\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe document allegedly signed by Biden details repair work that was to be performed on three MacBook Pro laptops at \u2018The Mac Shop\u2019 in Wilmington, Delaware. Aside from the signature, the paperwork notes Biden\u2019s name in the \u2018bill to\u2019 section for a cost of $85,\u201d Fox News reported, adding that the signature had not yet been verified to be Hunter Biden\u2019s.<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Other documents reveal that the FBI had communicated with the owner of the computer repair store, John Paul Mac Isaac. He had received a subpoena to testify before U.S. District Court in Delaware on Dec. 9, 2019. \u201cOne page shows what appears to be serial numbers for a laptop and hard drive taken into possession,\u201d Fox News stated.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The hard drive, later handed over to reporters, sparked a series of stories on emails and other data gathered from it.
