Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday for her Instagram story in which she suggested some people concerned about the border crisis are engaging in \u201cwhite supremacist\u201d thinking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery word of this is false,\u201d Cruz tweeted in reply to Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s video. \u201cIt IS a #BidenBorderCrisis. It\u2019s a humanitarian crisis. It\u2019s a health crisis. It\u2019s a national security crisis. And Dems are desperately trying to COVER IT UP. So often people want to say, \u2018Why aren\u2019t you talking about the border crisis?\u2019 or \u2018Why are you talking about it in this way?\u2019\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWell, we\u2019re talking about it. They just don\u2019t like how we\u2019re talking about it because it\u2019s not a border crisis, it\u2019s an imperialism crisis. It\u2019s a climate crisis. It\u2019s a trade crisis. And also, it\u2019s a carceral crisis because as I have already said even during this term and this president, our immigration system is based and designed on our carceral system,\u201d she continued.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez went on even to link the word \u201csurge\u201d with racism, which The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/aoc-referring-to-surge-of-illegal-immigration-is-militaristic-a-white-supremacist-idea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also noted<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"37\">\n<p><em>Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) asserted that referring to the immigration crisis as a \u201csurge\u201d is rooted in white supremacist philosophy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ocasio-Cortez commented on the ongoing crisis at the border Tuesday on Instagram. Ocasio-Cortez came under public pressure in recent days to sound off on the issue under the Biden administration after being an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration policies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The New York Democrat avoided explicitly blaming the Biden administration for the crisis, instead asserting that climate change, imperialism, and trade created it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPeople don\u2019t want to have that conversation,\u201d she said, referring to the issues she raised. She went on to claim anyone who refers to a \u201csurge\u201d of illegal migrants is trying to distract from other issues and is using white supremacist talking points.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThey want to say, \u2018What about the surge?\u2019 Well, first of all, gut check. Stop.
