Cuomo\u2019s \u201crelatives and other well-connected New Yorkers were among those given preferential treatment at state&nbsp;coronavirus testing centers,\u201d adding that New York state troopers \u2018were on standby to rush their samples to a lab to be expedited\u2026and those with priority status got results within hours or a day compared to a wait of up to a week that other New Yorkers faced at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Daily Wire noted Monday, Cuomo\u2019s relatives, including Chris, one of the governor\u2019s sisters, and the governor\u2019s mother were all \u201ctested several times during the early days of the pandemic,\u201d and that the testing was done \u201cby high-level members\u201d of the state\u2019s health department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOthers who were given priority testing included the executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Rick Cotton, and his wife, as well as Pat Foye, the head of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Some state legislators and their staff were also tested,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/news\/article\/High-level-health-officials-were-tasked-with-16044748.php\">Albany Times-Union<\/a>, which has been tracking the story, added.<\/p>\n<p>As Cuomo was dispatching his top docs to care for his family and his cronies, the New York Post noted, nursing home administrators, under pressure from a Cuomo administration order forcing them to accept recovering coronavirus patient regardless of whether the patients remained positive for the virus and contagious, were desperately phoning Cuomo\u2019s offices, begging for additional COVID-19 testing kits, and sending volunteers to criss-cross the state looking for spare tests.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/cuomo-priority-covid-testing\/2021\/03\/29\/79d40aa0-8e6d-11eb-9423-04079921c915_story.html\">Washington Post\u2019s Tuesday report<\/a> identified at least one Cuomo official tasked with tending to the governor\u2019s sick family as state doctor Eleanor Adams, who was, at the time, in charge of ensuring that \u201chigh risk\u201d populations were given priority for coronavirus testing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[A] top state physician whose pandemic portfolio involved coordinating testing in nursing homes was dispatched multiple times to the Hamptons home of CNN host Chris Cuomo, the governor\u2019s brother, in testing visits that sometimes stretched hours, according to two people with knowledge of the consultations,\u201d the Post reported. \u201cAmong Cuomo relatives, Chris Cuomo\u2019s family received attention that appeared to go beyond that of others, receiving multiple visits at their Hamptons home from Department of Health physician Eleanor Adams, according to two people familiar with the visits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time, Adams had a senior role for the state, coordinating testing issues for high-risk settings such as nursing homes,\u201d the Post noted.<\/p>\n<p>New York officials who spoke with the Post denied the reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cState officials strongly disputed that people were given special treatment because of ties to Cuomo,\u201d the Post said. \u201cThey said priority testing was available to many New York residents involved in the state\u2019s pandemic response, as well as members of the general public, such as those who were at high risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-cuomo-ignored-nursing-home-requests-for-covid-tests-gave-them-to-connected-dems-instead\">Report: Cuomo Fast-Tracked Family, Connected Dems For COVID Tests While Ignoring Nursing Home Test Requests<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
