(AP Photo\/Evan Vucci)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 9:20 AM PT \u2013 Tuesday, March 30, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Kamala Harris has yet to visit the southern border amid the ongoing crisis.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tvTb_gPZmOA\">press briefing<\/a> on Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed the Democrat is not actually in charge of the border crisis. Instead, she said Harris is only in charge of its purported \u201croot causes.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@POTUS<\/a> asked me to lead our diplomatic work with Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. To address the situation at the southern border, we have to address the root causes of migration. It won\u2019t be easy work\u2014but it&#8217;s necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Vice President Kamala Harris (@VP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VP\/status\/1374881343876820993?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 25, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This clarification came after Biden appointed Harris as his so-called \u201cborder czar\u201d by making her the White House\u2019s point person on immigration issues at the U.S.-Mexico border. However, Psaki said there is \u201csome confusion\u201d over Biden\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have an update on her (Harris) travel, but since you gave me the opportunity it\u2019s important to understand and know that she is focused on addressing root causes in the region,\u201d stated the press secretary. \u201cSo if she were to travel, it\u2019d be to Central America or something like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Harris is expected to meet with officials on immigration going forward, it remains unclear exactly what authority Biden has given her to \u201cresolve\u201d the crisis.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So now that Kamala Harris is in charge of the border crisis, can we finally get an answer on when she\u2019ll visit the border?
