The group compiled a list of parents, identified their spouses and employers, and called for members to find ways to shut down their websites, the <\/span><i><span>Daily Wire<\/span><\/i> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/loudoun-teachers-target-parents-critical-race-theory-hacking\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"posts-content__category-widget md:hidden -ml-4 -mr-4 my-8 px-4 py-6 bg-gray-100\">\n<h4 class=\"mt-0 text-red-600 font-medium font-sans uppercase\">Recent Stories in Campus<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>GoFundMe did not specify which term of service Mineo\u2019s page violated. Like other online platforms, GoFundMe can remove any user posts that it deems &#8220;in its sole discretion to be unacceptable,&#8221; according to its user <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/terms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>guidelines<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span> <span>GoFundMe did not respond to the <\/span><i><span>Washington Free Beacon\u2019s<\/span><\/i><span> request for comment in time for publication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>GoFundMe is the latest tech company to censor users whose speech does not conform with progressive orthodoxy. In February,&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/amazon-created-new-hate-speech-policy-before-banning-bestselling-book-on-transgenderism\/\"><span>Amazon<\/span><\/a><span>&nbsp;cited its hate speech policy as justification for banning a conservative scholar\u2019s book on gender dysphoria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Mineo\u2019s page had raised nearly $4,000 by March 22 when former Loudoun County School Board Equity Committee member <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/trustinkind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Charlotte McConnell<\/span><\/a><span> urged current committee members and the school board to report the page. Three days later, GoFundMe informed Mineo via email that his fundraiser was taken down because it constituted &#8220;prohibited conduct.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Mineo told the <\/span><i><span>Free Beacon <\/span><\/i><span>that the campaign to shut down his fundraiser proves that critical theory advocates in Loudoun County are worried about opposition to their views.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;[The district] pissed off a lot of people that were very supportive and this was a grave mistake on their part,&#8221; Mineo said. &#8220;At the end of the day, it further underscores the level of deception they are engaged in. Otherwise, why shut them down?&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The conflict began last June when Loudoun County Public Schools <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1C-g24K0U2-jwyyhPeCmX6b6oe9cM0mcYD3veFB292lk\/edit#heading=h.cah3njfbhkod\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>adopted<\/span><\/a><span> a &#8220;Culturally Responsive Framework,&#8221; which called for the school community to dismantle &#8220;white supremacy, systemic racism, and hateful language and actions based on race, religion, country of origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, and\/or ability.&#8221; The framework asks teachers to audit and update the K-12 curriculum to include lessons on identity, power, and privilege\u2014tenets of critical theory that Parents Against Critical Theory and others oppose.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Superintendent Scott Ziegler in September proposed changing the district\u2019s professional code to prohibit teachers from speaking out against the district\u2019s new framework. The district\u2019s interest in abolishing systemic racism would &#8220;outweigh&#8221; a teacher\u2019s First Amendment right to free speech, according to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/jnswire\/jns-media\/0e\/61\/11477272\/policydraft.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>draft<\/span><\/a><span> of that policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Ziegler later defended Loudoun County employees who joined Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County\u2019s blacklisting campaign, claiming their actions <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/loudoun-teachers-attack-parents-protected-free-speech-mulls-banning-trump-flags\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>constituted<\/span><\/a><span> First Amendment-protected speech.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Friday, Loudoun County Public School\u2019s Minority Student Achievement Advisory Council announced <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/after-enemies-list-school-body-pledges-to-silence-the-opposition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>plans<\/span><\/a><span> to &#8220;silence the opposition,&#8221; referring to the group of parents who oppose critical theory.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Loudoun County\u2014the wealthiest county in the United States\u2014has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/loudoun-county-schools-spend-hundreds-of-thousands-on-critical-race-theory\/\"><span>spent<\/span><\/a><span> hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on critical race theory-based diversity training in recent years, according to documents reviewed by the <\/span><i><span>Free Beacon<\/span><\/i><span>.
