(Photo by JEFF KOWALSKY\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 10:00 AM PT \u2013 Saturday, March 27, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>The Michigan attorney general closed an inquiry into disgraced gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar after Michigan State University refused to turn over thousands of documents.<\/p>\n<p>Reports on Friday detailed the AG\u2019s announcement, as the office used \u201cevery legal mechanism available\u201d to secure around 6,000 documents from the school.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MIAttyGen?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MIAttyGen<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dananessel?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@dananessel<\/a> issued the following statement after Michigan State University declined her request that it waive privilege to the content of nearly 6,000 documents for the Department to review and complete its investigation: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NfU2Dr6Dz5\">pic.twitter.com\/NfU2Dr6Dz5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (@MIAttyGen) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MIAttyGen\/status\/1375531614973927427?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>MSU declined to provide the documents, citing attorney-client privilege.<\/p>\n<p>The AG\u2019s office was investigating how Nassar, who worked with the school as a doctor, was able to abuse more than 150 women, and how much the university was aware about.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my belief that all survivors of sex assault should have access to justice,\u201d state Rep. Julie Brixie (D-Mich.) said. \u201cBy withholding these 6,000 documents, MSU is not allowing everyone to have the justice that they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The AG\u2019s office also noted \u201cincredible disappointment\u201d that its work ended this way.<\/p>\n<p>Nassar pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct back in 2017 and was sentenced 40 to 175 years in prison.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/gop-ga-lawmakers-attempt-to-make-elections-fair-in-peach-state\/\">GOP Ga.
