(Photo by Joe Raedle\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 6:00 PM PT \u2013 Friday, March 26, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>The California Supreme Court ruled judges must consider a suspect\u2019s ability to pay bail when considering setting a bail amount.<\/p>\n<p>The court\u2019s unanimous decision came on Thursday, with justices saying it\u2019s unconstitutional to condition an arrestee\u2019s freedom on whether or not they can afford bail. Judges can still require electronic monitoring, check-ins with authorities or order a suspect to undergo drug and alcohol treatment.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SACRAMENTO, Calif.
