However, support from the Speaker of the House is likely a welcome addition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPelosi threw her substantial political clout behind Newsom, suggesting national Democrats will continue mobilizing support, and predicted he would prevail,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/california\/story\/2021\/03\/25\/pelosi-to-california-democrats-dont-run-in-newsom-recall-1369616\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the governor will beat this quite decisively, and we\u2019ll all help him do that,\u201d Pelosi said.<\/p>\n<p>Randy Economy, a spokesperson for the recall effort, said in an email, according to Politico, that Pelosi \u201cneeds to stay in her lane,\u201d adding that more than two million Californians have signed the petitions to recall Newsom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe San Francisco political elite like to protect themselves and have no respect for the people of California during this historical recall,\u201d Economy said.<\/p>\n<p>Citing information from sources, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/03\/23\/steyer-newsom-recall-alternative-477735\">Politico<\/a> reported on Tuesday that former presidential candidate and billionaire Tom Steyer is conducting polling regarding the recall election.<\/p>\n<p class=\" story-text__paragraph\" data-content-child-index=\"0-2\">Steyer declined to comment to the outlet, but a source close to him said that he would be \u201cvery, very surprised if he is looking at the recall ballot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-content-child-index=\"0-2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/03\/23\/steyer-newsom-recall-alternative-477735\">Politico<\/a> reports, \u201cNewsom\u2019s team is warning Democrats not to break ranks with the governor, arguing that having even one serious contender from his party engaged in the election would offer a clear alternative to Newsom and give voters the incentive to vote for the recall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-says-he-is-worried-about-recall-effort\">admitted<\/a> that he is worried about the recall effort and is taking it seriously. \u201cAm I worried about it? Of course I\u2019m worried about it,\u201d Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-says-he-is-worried-about-recall-effort\">said<\/a>. \u201cThe nature of these things, the up or down question, the zero-sum nature of the question is challenging \u2026 so we\u2019re taking it seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During an appearance on \u201cThe View,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-says-he-is-worried-about-recall-effort\">Newsom was asked<\/a> about the effort and commented on how he has only been in office for 25 months, but there have been 6 recall efforts made against him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/newsom-says-he-is-worried-about-recall-effort\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"27\">\n<p><em>He said that the list of grievances made by those who wish to recall him revolve around \u201cissues related to the browning of California, immigration, issues related to low-carbon green growth, our climate policies, issues related to our advancement to end the death penalty or increase the minimum wage or advance pay equity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He also stated that the members of the movement are involved with fringe views and have ties to conspiracy theories, saying, \u201cThe top 10 proponents, the people who are behind this, are members of the 3-percenters, the right-wing militia groups, the Proud Boys, supported the insurrection, are folks that quite literally, enthusiastically support Qanon conspiracies,\u201d he said. \u201cSo that\u2019s the origin here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Newsom added, \u201cI have to do my job every single day, but I\u2019m gonna fight this thing because I\u2019m gonna fight for California values and the things I hold dear, and I think the vast majority of Californians, regardless of their political stripes, hold dear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/california\/story\/2021\/03\/25\/pelosi-to-california-democrats-dont-run-in-newsom-recall-1369616\">Politico<\/a> reports that Speaker Pelosi also reiterated Newsom\u2019s claims that the recall is mostly being pushed by extremist groups, stating that she believes Newsom will not only win during the recall election, but also be re-elected to the office in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do think we will defeat the initiative not because of who started it, the Trumpites, but because of the governor\u2019s leadership,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
