This is not about getting rid of the Second Amendment. It\u2019s simply about saying we need reasonable gun safety laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no reason why we have assault weapons on the streets of civil society. They are weapons of war,\u201d Harris falsely claimed. \u201cThey are designed to kill a lot of people quickly. We all agree that we need background checks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s just be practical and agree, people who have been found to be a danger to themselves and others should not be able to purchase a gun,\u201d Harris falsely suggested.<\/p>\n<p>The AR-15, which is a semi-automatic rifle, is not technically a \u201cweapon of war;\u201d it is the civilian version of the primary rifle that the U.S. Military uses. The rifle that is used by the military has the ability to be fired in a fully automatic mode, which means the gun fires continuously when an individual pulls the trigger a single time and keeps the trigger engaged. Semi-automatic rifles are no different than handguns in the sense that one pull of the trigger equals one round fired.<\/p>\n<p>Harris\u2019 suggestion that people who \u201chave been found to be a danger to themselves and others\u201d are able to purchase firearms is misleading. Individuals with violent criminal backgrounds\u2014including those convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence\u2014are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atf.gov\/firearms\/identify-prohibited-persons\">banned<\/a> from possessing firearms. People who have \u201cbeen adjudicated as a mental defective\u201d or have \u201cbeen committed to any mental institution\u201d are also prohibited from possessing firearms.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the interview, Harris stated, demanded that people \u201cstop pushing the false choice, that this means everybody\u2019s trying to come after your guns. That is not what we\u2019re talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, that is not exactly accurate. Biden has demanded that Congress ban \u201cassault weapons,\u201d which are nothing more than semi-automatic firearms. The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-to-congress-enact-major-restrictions-on-constitutionally-protected-second-amendment-rights\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"17.613814756672\">\n<p><em>There is seemingly little limit to what Biden wants to target when it comes to the Second Amendment, ranging from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atr.org\/biden-impose-200-gun-tax?amp\">taxing<\/a>&nbsp;gun owners, banning magazines \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/no-compromise-biden-goes-extreme-guns-calls-ban-ryan-saavedra\">that can hold multiple bullets in them<\/a>,\u201d offering \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/no-compromise-biden-goes-extreme-guns-calls-ban-ryan-saavedra\">no compromise<\/a>\u201d on the issue, and making other incoherent remarks like claiming that a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-rational-gun-policy-is-banning-50-clips-in-a-weapon-ak-47-wont-protect-you-from-government\">rational policy<\/a>\u201d on guns is making sure \u201cyou cannot have 20, 30, 40, 50 clips in a weapon.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>While on the campaign trail, Biden&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/joe-biden-declares-beto-orourke-to-lead-bidens-anti-gun-agenda\">said<\/a>&nbsp;that far-left gun control activist Beto O\u2019Rourke was \u201cgoing to be the one who leads this effort\u201d for the Biden administration. O\u2019Rourke has called for confiscating firearms from Americans.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Harris added that she did not think that Biden was \u201cexcluding\u201d the possibility of using executive action.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.5915492957746\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is a pretty bad performance on gun control.
