But Mexico\u2019s president appeared to side with Biden\u2019s conservative critics, who say his departure from former President Donald Trump\u2019s hardline immigration policies has helped facilitate the new surge,\u201d reported <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/mexicos-president-says-bidens-promise-better-treatment-migrants-causing-border-surge-1578229\"><span>Newsweek<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The outlet also reported that Obrador argued that Biden had worsened the border crisis by \u201callowing smugglers and traffickers to convince locals that the often dangerous route has been made easier to cross.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDuring his Tuesday press conference, Obrador went on to say that he stressed Mexican sovereignty and wants to work in a \u2018coordinated manner\u2019 with U.S. officials in order to help curb the flow of migrants showing up at the border between the two countries,\u201d the report added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Earlier this week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jemimamcevoy\/2021\/03\/21\/dhs-secretary-says-trump-to-blame-for-bidens-border-crisis-heres-why\/?sh=ea03aca2a72c\"><span>blamed<\/span><\/a><span> former President Donald Trump for the border crisis, \u201carguing that the previous administration\u2019s disruptions to the immigration system is the reason why holding facilities are being overwhelmed by an influx of unaccompanied minors.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, Trump has blamed Biden for the border crisis. \u201cIn an interview with Fox News Channel\u2019s <\/span><span>Maria Bartiromo<\/span><span>, Trump argued that his working relationship with Mexico and the partially constructed border wall had acted as deterrents for migrants while he was in office,\u201d the Hill <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/543547-trump-blames-biden-for-border-crisis\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe did a lot of things, and all of that is now eroded,\u201d Trump said. \u201cToday, they\u2019re coming in from all foreign countries. \u2026 They\u2019re dropping them off, and they\u2019re coming into our country, and it\u2019s a disgrace. They\u2019re going to destroy our country if they don\u2019t do something about it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The open criticism of the Biden administration by Obrador comes during a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-bidens-border-crisis-explodes-number-of-unaccompanied-children-in-custody-300-higher-than-previously-known\"><span>time<\/span><\/a><span> when \u201cDemocrat President Joe Biden\u2019s border crisis is rapidly spiraling out of control as new reporting on Tuesday evening indicated that the number of unaccompanied children being held in detention facilities is more than 300 percent higher than previously known,\u201d with the Biden administration reportedly looking to start a vaccine distribution initiative to help bolster negotiations with Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe announcement of the vaccine distribution came at a critical time in negotiations with Mexico,\u201d the New York Times <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/18\/world\/americas\/usa-mexico-vaccine-coronavirus.html\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cPresident Biden has moved quickly to dismantle some of former President Trump\u2019s signature immigration policies, halting construction of a border wall, stopping the swift expulsion of children at the border and proposing a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the United States.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBut he is clinging to a central element of Mr. Trump\u2019s agenda: relying on Mexico to restrain a wave of people making their way to the United States,\u201d the Times added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
