According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/safety\/safety-of-vaccines.html#:~:text=Millions%20of%20people%20have%20safely,are%20safe%20and%20effective.\"><span>CDC<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cOver 109 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through March 15, 2021,\u201d and \u201cCOVID-19 vaccines were evaluated in tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials,\u201d with the vaccines meeting the \u201cFDA\u2019s rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization (EUA).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite the safety and efficacy of the vaccine \u2014 demonstrated by nations like Israel whose vaccine program has been hugely successful \u2014 there is some level of skepticism in the United States when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now, this reality is being actively manipulated into a partisan tool of attack against conservatives by the legacy media. CNN\u2019s Brian Stelter decried \u201cright-wing media personalities\u201d who say \u201cthey\u2019re merely asking questions, when they are really sowing doubts.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Earlier that day, Stelter <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brianstelter\/status\/1373605573409787911\"><span>shared<\/span><\/a><span> a link to an LA Times column titled, \u201cHalf of Republican men say they don\u2019t want the vaccine. They\u2019re mooching off the rest of us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/politics\/story\/2021-03-21\/half-of-republican-men-say-they-dont-want-the-vaccine-theyre-mooching-off-the-rest-of-us\">column<\/a> cites a recent NPR\/PBS\/Marist <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/maristpoll.marist.edu\/npr-pbs-newshour-marist-poll-results-the-biden-administration-covid-19\/#sthash.SodVXblX.dpbs\"><span>poll<\/span><\/a><span>, saying that \u201cfully 49% of Republican men said they do not plan to get vaccinated \u2014 a higher share of refusers than any other demographic group. Among Democratic men, the number saying no was only 6%.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The column continues, claiming that this finding has \u201cconfounded public health professionals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c\u2018We\u2019ve never seen an epidemic that was polarized politically before,\u2019 Robert J. Blendon, a health policy scholar at Harvard, told me,\u201d the column reads.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFor months, Blendon and his colleagues expected \u2018vaccine hesitancy\u2019 to be a problem mainly among African Americans, whose history has been marked by neglect and abuse by medical authorities. But Black Americans, after some initial hesitance, now say they want the vaccine at the same rate that white people do,\u201d Doyle McManus writes. \u201cRepublicans, on the other hand, have become more resistant \u2014 especially since a Democrat became president.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In order for Democrats and the Leftist legacy media to pivot to present \u201cconservative\u201d media as the ideological enemy they hope to use as a replacement for Trump, they are relying on one defining factor: that the behavior of Democrats while Trump was in office will continue to remain hidden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After all, throughout the pandemic, high-ranking members of the Democratic Party ignored their supposedly \u201cpro-science\u201d positions and openly questioned the legitimacy of a vaccine. That is, until Trump left office.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kamala Harris<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>In early September, Kamala Harris spoke with CNN\u2019s Dana Bash. During the interview, she implied that the approval and safety of a COVID-19 vaccine would be directly impacted by Trump. Harris claimed \u2014 without evidence \u2014 that \u201cpublic health experts and scientists\u201d would be \u201cmuzzled,\u201d \u201csuppressed,\u201d and \u201csidelined.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.10989010989\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BASH: \u201cLet&#8217;s just say there is a vaccine that is approved and even distributed before the election. Would you get it?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>HARRIS: \u201cI would not trust Donald Trump\u2026 I will not take his word for it.&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7NIp1F8WkB\">pic.twitter.com\/7NIp1F8WkB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/1302297793458036737?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 5, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Harris\u2019 argument was that Trump was \u201clooking at an election coming up in less than 60 days and he\u2019s grasping for whatever he can get to pretend that he has been a leader on this issue.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When asked by Bash if she would get the vaccine if it was approved, Harris grinned and said \u201cI would not trust Donald Trump.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>During their Vice Presidential debate in October, Mike Pence condemned Harris\u2019 political tactics as \u201cunconscionable,\u201d asking her to \u201cstop playing politics with people\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Joe Biden<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>During his campaign, Joe Biden also sowed doubts about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, asking audience members, \u201cwho\u2019s going to take the shot?\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He continued, asking, \u201cyou going to be the first one to say \u2018put me, sign me up, they now say it\u2019s OK?\u2019\u201d He even confirmed the seriousness of his question, adding, \u201cI\u2019m not being facetious.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.29702970297\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Joe Biden is ignoring Dr. Fauci and other experts and deliberately trying to undermine confidence in the coronavirus vaccine here.<\/p>\n<p>Legit question from this: does Biden believe Americans shouldn&#8217;t get the vaccine when its ready? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AgEGQeL3UE\">pic.twitter.com\/AgEGQeL3UE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Andrew Clark (@AndrewHClark) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewHClark\/status\/1301897596047446017?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 4, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Later in September, Biden appeared to walk back his argument, mimicking Harris\u2019 strategy of sowing distrust by conflating the supposed trustworthiness of President Trump with the legitimacy of the vaccine. \u201cI trust vaccines, I trust scientists, but I don\u2019t trust Donald Trump,\u201d he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/09\/16\/913646110\/i-trust-vaccines-i-trust-scientists-but-i-don-t-trust-donald-trump-biden-says\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Andrew Cuomo<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who has come under significant fire for his administration\u2019s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, appeared to actively encourage his constituents to distrust the federal government on the subject of vaccine safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFrankly, I\u2019m not going to trust the federal government\u2019s opinion,\u201d Cuomo said, \u201cand I wouldn\u2019t recommend to New Yorkers based on the federal government\u2019s opinion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The governor also said that New York state would have its own health officials screen any federally approved vaccine before its use.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.4320557491289\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he doesn&#8217;t \u2018trust the federal government&#8217;s opinion\u2019 on a safe COVID-19 vaccine, so New York State will set up a task force to conduct an independent review <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/A8IjlEIZby\">https:\/\/t.co\/A8IjlEIZby<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BeMtj8oTwW\">pic.twitter.com\/BeMtj8oTwW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Reuters (@Reuters) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Reuters\/status\/1309229871357472769?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 24, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Nancy Pelosi<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also sowed distrust, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/517080-pelosi-public-confidence-key-to-successful-vaccine\"><span>justifying<\/span><\/a><span> doubts regarding the legitimacy of a vaccine by calling for additional approval by \u201cindependent\u201d committees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cUnless there is confidence that the vaccine has gone through the clinical trials, and then is approved by the independent scientific advisory committee, as established to do just this, there will be doubts that people will have.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She also fueled the issue of vaccine skepticism when she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2020\/oct\/09\/us-wont-rely-on-uk-for-covid-vaccine-safety-tests-says-nancy-pelosi\"><span>claimed<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 without evidence \u2014 that the United States may approve a vaccine simply because the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom had done so.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMy concern is that the UK\u2019s system for that kind of judgment is not on a par with ours in the United States. So if Boris Johnson decides he is going to approve a drug and this president embraces that, that is a concern that I have.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>***<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Not only did these high-level Democrats promote what is arguably anti-vaccine propaganda while Trump was in office, there was evidence of vaccine skepticism among the American Left which was not met with derision and scorn by the legacy media.
