During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WlUohLyG-wI\">interview<\/a> on MSNBC Sunday, Crenshaw sparred with commentator Mehdi Hasan over how the Biden administration has handled the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Crenshaw stressed Biden\u2019s rollback of asylum cooperation agreements and reinstatement of \u201cCatch-and-Release\u201d policies caused the surge in illegal immigrants. Additionally, things got especially heated when Crenshaw educated Hasan about the real effects of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/42\">Title 42<\/a> on unaccompanied minors.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">MSNBC and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MehdiHasanShow?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MehdiHasanShow<\/a> don&#8217;t seem to know the first thing about US asylum policy. You don&#8217;t &#8220;send people back&#8221; with an ACA. The whole point, which <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepDanCrenshaw?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepDanCrenshaw<\/a> tried to explain, is that ppl claim asylum in their home country, not after they&#8217;ve illegally crossed into the US. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hm20AwFfDF\">https:\/\/t.co\/hm20AwFfDF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 John Daniel Davidson (@johnddavidson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/johnddavidson\/status\/1374066744067772418?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 22, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWell, nobody should put orphans in the desert,\u201d Crenshaw said. \u201cThat\u2019s a good policy, don\u2019t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what Donald Trump was doing,\u201d Hasan claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen,\u201d Crenshaw stated. \u201cWhen unaccompanied minors come across, they get processed, they get healthcare, they get housing, they get fed, they get on a charter plane. We ensure that they are met by government officials who then reunite them with families there. This process is extremely meticulous. No naccompanied minor is just sent back. That has never been the process!
