But that\u2019s set to expire on May 4, inspiring some officials to push to make it permanent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough the rule must be adopted as a permanent rule, its purpose is to address the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/osha.oregon.gov\/OSHARules\/proposed\/2021\/text-chngs-covid19-public-health-emergency.pdf\">proposal<\/a> reads. \u201cOregon OSHA intends to repeal the rule when it is no longer necessary to address the pandemic. Because it is not possible to assign a specific time for that decision, Oregon OSHA will consult with the Oregon OSHA Partnership Committee, the Oregon Health Authority, and other stakeholders as circumstances change to determine when all or part of the rule can be appropriately repealed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear how officials will decide when masks are \u201cno longer necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state mask mandates however, which are particularly stringent, are becoming a progressively burdensome issue for a COVID-fatigued public one year into the pandemic,\u201d The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/18\/oregon-health-officials-propose-making-mask-mandates-permanent\/\">reported<\/a>. \u201cEven outdoor sports teams under state regulations are mandated to wear facial coverings where the arbitrary measure of six-feet distancing cannot be guaranteed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Members of high school cross-country running teams are even required to wear masks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state has mandated masks be worn during all practices and competitions for high school sports. It\u2019s a rule many coaches and runners are unhappy with, saying it\u2019s difficult to competitively run 5,000 meters while masked. They also worry it could be dangerous,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.registerguard.com\/story\/sports\/high-school\/2021\/03\/17\/prep-cross-country-off-and-running-but-mask-mandate-slowing-everyone-down\/4709186001\/\">reported<\/a> The Register-Guard newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s tragic to watch,\u201d South Eugene coach Steve Richards told the paper. \u201cIt\u2019s hard as a coach to send your kids out there. There\u2019s been a lot of theorizing about the health risks between wearing a mask and not wearing one, and I can\u2019t speak to those. I just know the looks on their faces. They\u2019re running their guts out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Texas lifted its statewide mask mandate and businesses were allowed to reopen \u201c100%,\u201d Republican Gov. Greg Abbott announced.<\/p>\n<p>While other states are doing away with mask mandates as well, some are calling on businesses to urge their customers to keep wearing them&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;and some will keep the mandate intact.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, while theme parks in California are set to reopen in April, a group that oversees the parks say visitors will be required to wear masks \u2014 and should not scream or shout while on rides, including roller coasters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe California Attractions and Parks Association advises in the new guidelines for its \u2018Responsible Reopening Plan\u2019&nbsp;that theme park visitors should avoid activities that increase the spread of COVID-19, such as singing, shouting, heavy breathing and raising one\u2019s voice,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/travel\/california-theme-parks-advise-guests-dont-scream-roller-coasters\/\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;People.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis rule applies when visitors are on the parks\u2019 rides, meaning guests are recommended to stay silent on roller coasters that usually encourage people to do anything but,\u201d the magazine said.<\/p>\n<p>Disneyland is set to reopen on April 30, but only California residents will be allowed to visit.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
