Former President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-unloads-on-biden-pathetic-dhs-head-over-their-border-crisis-our-country-is-being-destroyed\">blasted<\/a> Mayorkas\u2019s \u201cclueless performance,\u201d saying that he was arrogant and a \u201cnational disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ABC News host Martha Raddatz said at the start of \u201cThis Week\u201d that despite the crisis-level numbers that the Biden administration is seeing that the media has not been allowed inside because the Biden administration has been restricting their access \u201cdespite promising transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raddatz pressed Mayorkas during the interview, asking why he will not allow the media inside the detention facilities where thousands of children are being kept and asking if the media would be allowed in this week. You yourself say we are on pace to have one of the largest migrant surges in 20 years,\u201d Raddatz pressed. \u201cWhy were you not prepared for this?\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" Chris Wallace, Mayorkas was again repeatedly slammed over the Biden administration\u2019s secrecy in not allowing reporters in to see the Border Patrol facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Wallace played a clip of Biden speaking the day after he was inaugurated in which Biden said, \u201cWe\u2019ll always be honest and transparent with you about both the good news and the bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo why has the Biden administration refused to allow reporters to see for themselves and to record what the conditions are under which these minors are being housed?\u201d Wallace continued. \u201cWhy, in fact, did you \u2014 when you went to the border on Friday and led a congressional delegation, why did you refuse to allow reporters to see the conditions under which these minors are being held?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas again claimed that the ban on reporters was intended to protect \u201chundreds of vulnerable migrant children,\u201d to which Wallace responded that it sounded like Mayorkas was making \u201can excuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that there is a safe condition under which a pool reporter and a pool camera crew could go into some of these facilities \u2014 this has been going on for two months now \u2014 and record the conditions under which these minors are being held,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cIt seems to me to say it\u2019s impossible to do because of Brownsville tested positive for COVID and then were released?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas did not answer Wallace\u2019s question about reports that 10 percent of the minors in Midland tested positive for that what is unfolding on Biden\u2019s watch is a \u201cfive-alarm emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bash then pressed Mayorkas on whether it was \u201cacceptable\u201d to him that children in Biden\u2019s detention facilities are reportedly \u201ctaking turns sleeping on mats on the floor\u201d while \u201csome haven\u2019t showered or seen the sun in days.\u201d Mayorkas did not answer the
