Not everyone who disclosed past marijuana use during an extensive background check has been given the chance to stay on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, key Democratic lawmakers want to know what, precisely is going on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to find out how and why this happened, and obviously I\u2019m going to urge them to change course,\u201d Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/dems-knock-white-house-touch-060000606.html\">told the Daily Beast<\/a>, which broke the initial story, over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis administration promised a more enlightened approach, but somewhere along the line they reverted to the dogma,\u201d added that he\u2019d assumed the administration would be a refreshing change from \u201cJeff Sessions\u2019 \u2018Refer Madness&#8217;\u201d approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s happening now is a vivid illustration of unrealistic, unfair, and out-of-touch cannabis policies,\u201d Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), added, also in an interview with the Daily Beast. \u201cThere is confusion across the country because of out-of-date laws and the fact that the American public is not waiting for the federal government to get its act together. This is an opportunity for the Biden administration to help end the failed War on Drugs and make a more rational policy for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Biden administration\u2019s line on the subject, the officials at the head \u2014 President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris \u2014 have a mixed record on the subject of marijuana. Biden was tough on crime during his stint in the Senate but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pharmaceutical-technology.com\/comment\/biden-marijuana-legalisation-plans\/\">promised to reconsider national marijuana policies<\/a> in light of recent state decriminalization efforts.
