Figures of former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama in the San Antonio museum have also been damaged, including multiple times when the ears were ripped off Obama\u2019s replica, Clay Stewart, regional manager for Ripley, told the Express-News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always had trouble with the presidential section because no matter what president it was \u2014 Bush, Obama or Trump \u2014 they\u2019ve all had people beat them,\u201d&nbsp; he said, noting that Bush\u2019s figure\u2019s nose was punched in. \u201cPeople are just aggressive about their political party,\u201d Stewart said.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for Ripley Entertainment <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/politics\/a-trump-wax-figure-in-a-texas-museum-kept-being-punched\/\">told<\/a> People magazine it\u2019s not unusual for the company\u2019s wax figures to be damaged.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the magazine, spokeswoman Suzanne Smagala-Potts said the company \u201chas a long history of creating wax figures of the US President to display at our Louis Tussaud\u2019s Waxworks and Ripley\u2019s Believe It or Not! Odditoriums. Our wax figures will need repairing from time to time, ranging from Hollywood celebrities to political figures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRipley\u2019s only showcases the highest quality of exhibits and wax figures,\u201d her statement continued. \u201cWhen a wax figure has been damaged, we will remove the figure from public display and send it to our talented team of artists for repair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe like to be an interactive museum where people can come, and pose and take selfies,\u201d she told People. \u201cA lot of times, a figures will need repair and it\u2019s not even intentional \u2014 people just want to touch the face of Miley Cyrus or Lady Gaga or put their arm around it, and maybe they knock it down by accident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsked if the damage to the Trump figure occurred because of repeated punches to the face, she says, \u2018Have some people done that? Yes. But it\u2019s also been damaged accidentally, as well.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the 2016 election, Ripley announced it would create three Trump figures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re huuuuuge, they\u2019re big league and they\u2019ve been hand- crafted by the F\/X team at Ripley\u2019s Believe It or Not!\u201d the company said in a press release. \u201cJust as in real life, the wax Trump is polling at about 50% \u2013 loved by some Ripley\u2019s visitors, loathed by others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRipley\u2019s F\/X team started creating the first Trump figure about four months ago. Each is sculpted by hand by a team of artists, using photographs to create the likeness.
