The incident was reported by the Western Journal. Do you want help verifying this report, writng a neutral summary/article, or drafting a response (e.g., for a team, the player, or a reader)? I can also fact-check specific claims if you give me the player’s name or a link.

Meanwhile, here are practical next steps and guidance you can use right away.

How to verify the story

– Confirm the player’s identity and team roster (Blue Jays outfielder – get the name).

– Search for the original social-media posts (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook); look for screenshots if the posts were deleted.

– Check major, reliable outlets (AP, Reuters, NYT, ESPN, Globe and Mail) to see whether they’ve reported the incident. If only The Western Journal has it, treat the claim cautiously.

– Look for team/league statements and the player’s follow-up (apology, deletion notice, suspension).

– Use archive services (Wayback Machine) or cached pages/screenshots if posts were removed.

– Verify the characterization of Abdul El-Sayed (is he a senator-elect? – that’s a factual claim you should confirm separately).

How to evaluate source and framing

– The Western Journal is a partisan/conservative outlet; cross-check with nonpartisan sources before amplifying inflammatory labels.

– The phrase “jihadist sympathizer” is an opinionated, loaded label. Attribute such language to the original source and avoid asserting it as fact without clear evidence.

– Distinguish between: (a) what the player said, (b) whether the player deleted posts, and (c) whether any factual claims in the posts are true.

If you’re writing a neutral summary/article

– Lead with verifiable facts: who, what, when, where. Exmaple: “A Toronto Blue Jays outfielder (name) posted and later deleted social-media comments criticizing Sharia and Islam and attacking Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed, according to The Western Journal. The posts drew public backlash…”

– Attribute disputed or inflammatory descriptions: “The Western Journal described El-Sayed as a ‘jihadist sympathizer.’”

– Include responses: player/team statements, El-Sayed’s response (if any), and any disciplinary action or platform notices.

– Provide brief context on El-Sayed’s public role (e.g., former Michigan gubernatorial candidate/public health official) – but verify current office/status.

If you want to fact-check now, give me the player’s name or the article link and I’ll walk through likely sources and how to corroborate.

A player for the Toronto Blue Jays, a Canadian baseball team, is facing public cancellation for telling the truth about the election of Democratic jihadist sympathizer Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed of […] The post Blue Jays Outfielder Takes Stand Against El-Sayed With Brutal Posts on Sharia and Islam, But Deletes After Blowback Hits appeared first on The Western Journal.

[87546,82381,26161,14889
post-2700049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-blue-jays-2","tag-el-sayed-2","tag-islam","tag-outfielder
["GET
