The Western Journal published the story and video coverage. Short answer: false – Gaza does not, and cannot, have a U.S. senator, and chanting by a candidate’s supporters does not make a foreign territory “their” senator.

Why:

– U.S. senators are elected to represent U.S. states (or, in a few cases, territories) and must be U.S. officials listed on the official Senate roster. Gaza is a Palestinian territory, not part of the United states, so it cannot be represented in the U.S. Senate.

– Abdul El‑Sayed is not a U.S. senator. (if you want, I can pull up his current office/candidacy status and official election results.)

– Supporters chanting slogans about Gaza or Palestine at an event is an expression of political opinion or solidarity. It does not change the legal or constitutional status of depiction, nor does it make Gaza a constituency of the United States.

If you want, I can:

– Review the Western Journal article and the video you mentioned (paste a link) and check context and accuracy;

– Pull official sources (Senate roster, Michigan election results, news outlets) to confirm Abdul El‑Sayed’s current elected status.

Read more…

Well, Gaza has its first member of the U.S. Senate.
