The Trump administration also reformed Temporary Protected Status (TPS), infamously abused by successive American governments to keep foreign populations of Somalians, Haitians, and others in the country in perpetuity, so that it is \u201conce again truly temporary.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2868262146\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThose who abuse or flagrantly disregard our immigration system are now on notice that these violations of law will not be tolerated or overlooked,\u201d DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/newsroom\/news-releases\/under-president-trumps-leadership-uscis-takes-unprecedented-22-million-enforcement-actions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cSecuring our border was only the beginning. We are restoring integrity to the entire immigration system and putting the safety of our American citizens first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DHS <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DHSgov\/status\/2116207564681560512?a=EjDHzvJpu5ZzWzaM9A8&#038;s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> Friday morning that it had rounded up 4,170 illegal aliens in an 11-day operation in Texas, ostensibly all of whom will be removed from the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">USCIS is responsible for reviewing and issuing work permits, green cards, and other types of statuses that allow foreigners to legally stay in the country for a period of time. During the Biden administration, this review was essentially turned into one of the final steps in an international human trafficking operation to bring as many illegals into the country as possible and make them legally untouchable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) did the same thing in its Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), as The Federalist <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/10\/01\/hhs-biden-admins-office-of-refugee-resettlement-was-a-fraud-fueled-smuggling-operation-for-alien-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. Current ORR Senior Advisor John Fabbricatore said that under the Biden administration that office acted as the endpoint of a \u201csmuggling operation\u201d in which nearly half a million Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) went missing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other USCIS enforcement actions announced Thursday include \u201cdenying applications to extend or change nonimmigrant status when no legal basis exists; issuing Notices to Appear to place removable aliens into removal proceedings before an immigration judge; [and] ending the automatic extension of employment authorization documents, ensuring every alien is properly screened and vetted before any work authorization is renewed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About 900,000 illegals given legal status under the Biden administration used a now-defunct \u201cCBP One\u201d app, which the Trump administration used to conduct a mass revocation of status. An Obama-appointed federal judge in Boston <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/npr\/2026\/04\/01\/nx-s1-5770189\/federal-judge-rules-dhs-illegally-stripped-immigration-status-from-thousands-who-entered-through-cbp-one-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stopped<\/a> the move for now, but the app has been revamped as \u201cCBP Home,\u201d and is used to facilitate the return of foreigners to the proper countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the Trump administration virtually ended all illegal border crossings, it also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2026\/10\/19\/cato-legal-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cut<\/a> legal immigration in half. The State Department was issuing about 52,000 visas a month prior to Trump\u2019s second stint in the White House.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">   Breccan F.
