Ilhan Omar made her first public appearance since federal authorities raided her home last week as part of an investigation into potential immigration-related crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Reporters swarmed the lawmaker on Friday in Minneapolis after she cast her ballot at an early voting location, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/rep-ilhan-omar-fires-back-after-trump-accuses-her-of-using-an-alias\/601904396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Minnesota Star Tribune<\/a>. Minnesota Democratic Attorney General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-impeachment-news-hearings-tim-walz-keith-ellison-impeachment-begin-next-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keith Ellison<\/a> appeared with her at the site.<\/p>\n<p>As she was leaving, a reporter asked Omar, \u201cHave you talked to the feds at all?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She responded, \u201cI have not.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: Rep. Ilhan Omar says she has had no contact with federal investigators since the search of her D.C. home, speaking publicly for the first time since the probe launched.<\/p>\n<p>The search reportedly led to the seizure of her cellphone and grand jury subpoenas for family members. Omar denies wrongdoing and calls the investigation politically motivated. Therefore, because she used a fake name to be sworn in, I assume she must IMMEDIATELY resign from Congress,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Omar <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IlhanMN\/status\/2113678575601692766\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responded<\/a> on social media on Friday, saying Trump is peddling \u201cconspiracy theories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let\u2019s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie Rogers, a representative for the lawmaker, added in a statement to The Minnesota Star Tribune on Friday that \u201cany other implication is a flat-out lie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox News contributor Donna Rotunno, who is a defense attorney, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gdwW7CAzvNw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> following Omar\u2019s first public appearance, \u201cIn terms of the criminal side of this, it\u2019s very strange to me that she\u2019s happy to walk out and say, \u2018No, I haven\u2019t spoken to the feds.\u2019 It\u2019s like if they raided my house, and I had nothing to hide, I\u2019d probably want to be knocking on their door to say, \u2018What is this about? I have nothing to hide.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Rotunno noted, Omar\u2019s response has only been to say it is a \u201cpolitical hit job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The attorney also pointed out that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-feds-dna-evidence-ilhan-omar-committed-voter-fraud-married-brother-source\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DNA<\/a> federal investigators reportedly obtained is \u201cabout whether or not they claimed there are family members who are maybe not family members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe her dad is not her dad. Who knows? That is where the DNA portion here is a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/10\/12\/us-news\/why-did-feds-raid-ilhan-omars-dc-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> reported, \u201cOmar claims she received automatic U.S. citizenship in 2000 at age 17, granted to minor-age children of naturalized parents \u2014 in this case her father, Nur Said Mohamed Elmi, who fled to the U.S. in 1995 from war-torn Somalia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In September, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-doj-seized-ilhan-omars-phone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cThere may be more to this \u2014 the whole family migration and possibly some illegal activity for them to come to the United States to begin with.
