Bush\u2019s brother, Neil Bush, announced in a post published Tuesday that he\u2019s a complete and utter sellout.<\/p>\n<p>How much of a sellout? So much so that he not only trashed President Donald Trump and \u201cthose who have enabled him\u201d \u2014 they\u2019re called the American voters, Neil \u2014 but he also endorsed a radical Democrat in the 2026 midterms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI voted early today, and I voted for James Talarico for the United States Senate,\u201d he proudly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/neilmbush\/posts\/pfbid0KCAuR13Puhn5U6cQcy6FuhQ5j6YmtxUb38ntkSFfH5bhQjpbeQubW3kULXCKAibNl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> as he tried to flush his family\u2019s previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/please-clap-bush-family-members-electoral-failure-maine-evidence-rino-establishment-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tattered and imperfect<\/a> but still important conservative reputation down the toilet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy vote was motivated by two things: deep concern about Ken Paxton\u2019s record and genuine admiration for the character and principles I see in James Talarico,\u201d he added in defense of a guy with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/james-talarico-asked-favorite-drag-queen-answers-without-skipping-beat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">favorite drag queen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the post was full of the usual claptrap you\u2019d expect from a typical liberal Democrat voter, not the progeny of one of the most important Republican families in America.<\/p>\n<p>First, Bush took shots at Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is running against Talarico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been deeply troubled by Paxton\u2019s conduct as Texas Attorney General, particularly his decision to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election in other states in an effort to help Donald Trump remain in power,\u201d Bush wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that effort was an affront to our democratic institutions and the peaceful transfer of power,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Just to be clear, there was nothing illegal or morally wrong about Paxton\u2019s lawful attempt to examine the results of the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing his screed, Bush also took a shot at Paxton for getting impeached, though it should be noted that, much like President Donald Trump, he was never convicted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy concerns about his judgment and conduct are hardly mine alone,\u201d he wrote about Paxton. \u201cHe was impeached by the Republican-controlled Texas House, although subsequently acquitted by the Texas Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After being impeached in May 2023, Paxton released a statement calling the impeachment effort an \u201cillegal, unfounded, and unethical\u201d plot.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I am beyond grateful to have the support of millions of Texans who recognize that what we just witnessed is illegal, unethical, and profoundly unjust. I look forward to a quick resolution in the Texas Senate, where I have full confidence the process will be fair and just. https:\/\/t.co\/fEiAroA2DW<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Attorney General Ken Paxton (@KenPaxtonTX) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KenPaxtonTX\/status\/1662578370477948928?\">May 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Bush then turned to slobbering over Talarico, a radical Democrat who\u2019s previously said that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/james-talarico-says-god-not-christian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God is not a Christian<\/a>\u201d and that \u201cGod is non-binary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never met James Talarico, but I have been enormously impressed by the way he approaches complicated and controversial issues,\u201d Bush wrote. \u201cHe speaks with respect, seeks common ground, and seems genuinely interested in bringing people together rather than driving them apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, sure, that must be why during remarks he made during a February profile in The New Yorker, he called Christianity the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/unearthed-interview-james-talarico-called-christianity-violent-religion-saw-atheists-christlike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most violent<\/a>\u201d religion.<\/p>\n<p>Bush blindly continued that \u201chis faith appears to be a deeply rooted source of humility, compassion, and conviction rather than a political weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At this point, it\u2019s worth wondering whether Bush even reads the news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see in him the qualities I admire most in public servants: integrity, civility, humility, and a willingness to listen to those with whom he disagrees,\u201d Bush continued. \u201cMy impression is that he is a principled, pragmatic leader who understands that public office is a responsibility to serve, not an entitlement to power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Is he actually principled, though?<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post published on Monday, Republican Texas Rep. Brandon Gill argued that Talarico simply wears principles \u201clike a skin suit\u201d while promoting unprincipled policies \u201cthat undermine everything you know and love.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">James Talarico takes your faith, your small town traditions, and your love for Friday night football and wears them like a skin suit.<\/p>\n<p>Then he promotes policies that undermine everything you know and love. https:\/\/t.co\/cWhRiNMVXA<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Congressman Brandon Gill (@RepBrandonGill) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepBrandonGill\/status\/2112344635360067704?\">October 20, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Bush finished his diabolical diatribe by insisting that he\u2019s still a Republican.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been a Republican for most of my life, and I still believe deeply in many traditional Republican principles,\u201d he wrote. \u201cBut character matters more than party affiliation. Our democracy depends on leaders who respect our institutions, tell the truth, accept accountability, and seek to unite rather than divide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, I voted against a style of politics that I believe has damaged our country.
