(Even <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2026\/10\/20\/politics\/black-voters-michigan-senate-race-el-sayed-rogers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN admitted<\/a>\u00a0he has a problem with one of the Democratic Party\u2019s most loyal constituencies.)<\/p>\n<p>It was an exercise in pandering that would make even a Clinton blush.<\/p>\n<p>From ordering fried chicken \u2014 El-Sayed\u2019s interlocutor went with the blackened salmon \u2014 to belittling those of his own background, the man aiming to become the country\u2019s first Muslim senator managed mainly to show just how low he was willing to go to pull the wool over the eyes of Wolverine State voters.<\/p>\n<p>See, El-Sayed might have won a brutal nomination fight in the Democratic Party, thanks to his support among the party\u2019s ascendant leftists \u2014 the Boris-and-Natasha duo of Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/socialists-bernie-aoc-campaigned-michigan-dem-someone-cashed-selling-merch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, for instance, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-hasan-piker-reminds-james-talarico-liberal-puppet-masters-got-play-ball\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scheming Iago<\/a> of a podcaster named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/el-sayed-says-fine-campaigning-hasan-america-deserved-9-11-piker-says-focused-campaigning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hasan Piker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But he knows full well that in a general election, he\u2019s going to need the support of the party\u2019s more traditional base \u2014 and in Democratic politics, that means black voters.<\/p>\n<p>And for El-Sayed, \u201cblack voters\u201d evidently means those who are angry and resentful at small business owners in black communities who happen to be Middle Easterners trying to make the most of the American Dream.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Abdul El-Sayed to black voters: I am not like your \u201cgas station Abdul\u201d who hates blacks, catcalls women This reeks of desperation https:\/\/t.co\/HfzrKViid9<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EndWokeness\/status\/2112544210260054464?\">October 20, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor too many black Detroiters in particular, their experience with somebody who looks like me is not a good one,\u201d El-Sayed told Allison. \u201cYou go into a gas station, you go into a party store, you\u2019re being talked at from behind bullet-proof glass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re a woman, you\u2019re being catcalled. If you\u2019re a kid, you\u2019re being sold a loosey [individual cigarette] out the back, being denied a bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always tried to be on the right side of that. But I also understand that if that\u2019s your experience with somebody whose name is like mine, that leaves a terrible taste in your mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And then there was this: \u201cI also ask to be judged on the content of my character.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seriously? There, she made the literally incredible claim that she always carries hot sauce in her purse \u2014 presumably to spice up all those grits and fried catfish she scarfs down in Chappaqua.<\/p>\n<p>When the host, who goes by the moniker Charlamagne tha God, said, \u201cI want you to know, people are going to see this and say, \u2018she\u2019s pandering to black people \u2026,&#8217;\u201d Clinton had one of the few honest moments of her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hillary-clinton-posts-provably-false-lies-gets-completely-blasted-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">miserably dishonest public life<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOK,\u201d she said. \u201cIs it workin\u2019?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notice that she did not throw an entire class of Americans under the bus \u2014 much less the storekeepers and small-business entrepreneurs El-Sayed maligned.<\/p>\n<p>Notice that she didn\u2019t go out of her way to coddle criminals. (El-Sayed knows as well as anyone why bulletproof glass guards cash registers in poor neighborhoods.)<\/p>\n<p>Notice that she didn\u2019t invoke one of Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brainyquote.com\/quotes\/martin_luther_king_jr_297516\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most famous quote<\/a>s in a shallow defense of her own candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>And El-Sayed did all of the above.<\/p>\n<p>No Democrat can win Michigan without a sizable black vote.
